hi...

Im Xarm. A graduate of bachelor of science in Nursing.
i am a registered nurse(RN) here in the Philippines. i work as a VOLUNTEER NuRSE for 7months in a public hospital. Here is my situation, please read and help me..

My Aunt and her Husband are citizens in Canada. They applied for LMO, for me to take care of my Aunt's mother-in-law.. I have my LMO and contract then.-- a companion and light house keeping are my works written in my LMO.

I DID NOT ENROLLED in 6 months caregiving course.
Instead, TESDA (accredited office/training center here in the philippines) said that RN can take the NC II (caregiving exam) and should pass it to be a holder of/ to have a CAREGIVING CERTIFICATE.. so i did, and thank God, i passed.

I think one of the requirements under the LiCP is the COE/certificate of employment. I also read "6months caregiving course, or a twelve month paid experience plus 6 months of continuous work in one employer."

.........In my LMO, there is NO qualification written in a part of "work experience". And in "level of education", it says there 'NOT Specified by the employer.' ..........

Back to my problem, about the COE, what is the best remedy i can do for all we know, i am only a nurse volunteer, handles different patient in a public hospital. No pay.

Is my 7months volunteer not enough?
Should i add more months to qualify?
Any more feedback...?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASe HELP ME..I don't know what to do. My aunt just gave me the LMO and Contract without any help from agency..im doing it in my own..
Your help is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. PLEASE.

thanks a lot. god bless you.

Hi there...

I am also an RN in the Philippines and went here as a caregiver. Based on my experience you don't need to take any tesda exam as you are already a graduate of BSN.. in short we are already over qualified here are the requirements based on the cic website

Determine your eligibility – Live-in caregivers
You must meet certain requirements to be eligible for the Live‑in Caregiver Program in Canada.

You will need:

A positive Labour Market Opinion (LMO) from an employer in Canada
A written contract with your future employer, signed by you and the employer
Successful completion of the equivalent of a Canadian secondary school education
At least six months’ training or at least one year of full-time paid work experience as a caregiver or in a related field or occupation (including six months with one employer) in the past three years
Good knowledge of English or French
A work permit before you enter Canada
Inadmissibility

The one that says 6 months training on your BSN is already considered... as long as you graduated in the last 3 years..

What I did with mine is I submitted my diploma of BSN...

Hope it helps...
