Number of TRVs approved by IRCC by Country

Access this link to view how many visitor visas were approved from 2017 to May 2020. You will see how it has drastically reduced. IRCC normally approves up to 60k applications per month but in May 2020, they approved a total of 683.

A “V-1” counterfoil is used for Temporary Resident Visas (TRV) for those that are visiting Canada from non-visa-exempt countries and coming to Canada as tourists or to visit family or friends. This data does not include TRVs issued to temporary foreign workers, foreign students, diplomats, etc. The table reflects the number of V-1 visas issued, not the number of actual visits.

but i think they were under temporary pause for visitor visas due to pandemic and only recently started processing these visas so maybe thats why the number is low and that 683 approved needed essential travel i guess.
Maybe now as they started processing them the number will increase.
