number of times a foreign worker can change employer?

hello everyone!!

for those who have idea pls give me some info.

I have been working in canada for 6 mos now.. and i am a foreign worker on worker visa and i wish to quit my job do you think my employer can stop me from doing so.? is there anything they can do..put me into trouble or so.. coz i have found a new employer who is willing to provide me with LMO and all sort s of paper works.. im just worried that they can stop me. and is there a limit as to the number of times i can change employer.. just for future reference only..

No, as long as you give them notice. Check your contract as to how many weeks, months you should notify them you're leaving their employ.

Check your contract for how long of a notice you need to give, in order to leave this job.

When I was a foreign worker I've changed employer 3 times. The 3rd one I didn't even work for because I changed my mind about it because the pay was too low.

The best advice I could ever give you is don't be dumb. If you found a new employer with LMO provided. Make sure you have the new work permit in your hand before even thinking of quitting your job. I've guessing you hate your current job. But be patient. I know a lot of people who quite their current job without having the new work permit on hand and they were left in limbo and jobless and no money because the job they were suppose to get did not go through.

PS. You can not get in trouble for quitting a job. Employers don't have a right to deport you or whatever else threat they will tell you.

You can stay in Canada for as long as your work permit is valid till.
