Hi everyone, can anyone tell me how many spousal PR applications are processed by the Canada immigration every year? I came to know that the government has decided to process 18000 applications by the end of 2020

Somewhere around 90,000 in 2019. I think your 18,000 in 2020 is rather low.

There are figures on statscan site as well as ircc.

I recall appr 80-90 thousand annually.

But : published figures are for total individuals (includes dependents), and under family class. Published figures are also for arrivals (landings) not processed, so excludes refusals, people who get copr but never show up, and there is a lag between issuance and arrival especially now.

The 18000 was a target for files "finished" for last three months of the year.

You could make some educated guesses about how to compare but would only be an estimate.

That number is incorrect for the full year. That's just for the last three months of the year. IRCC has announced they are aiming to process 49,000 applications by end of 2020.
