Hello guys,

I am preparing for photographs to be sent to my spouse sponsorship application package. I have already set up the photo on microsoft publisher (two photos per page in some & 6 photos per page in other sheets). I don't have much photos of any extra activities but have plenty of wedding photographs. I have compiled a total of 190 photos in 41 sheets where most of photos are from engagement, wedding day & reception. so my worry is, do you think 190 photos are more than enough or you want me to reduce some of them? And is that ok the way I have presented photos in microsoft publisher?

thank you for your support.

I'm actually just finishing mine now. I have about 40-50 photos spread across 6 pages. A few from the wedding and a few from other visits spanning a little more then 2 years as well as some earlier photos (we were friends before romance). They are taken all over Canada / US and show we did a lot of different things together. A few are with family but the bulk are us. Fortunately we live in the selfie era as most of our trips we spent alone. I didn't see the point in including many photos from the same instance. Obviously there are a few more of the wedding but that was mainly just to show the other people there. Not to sound silly but the looks on our faces say it all. True love. I'm sure yours do too, so don't worry you have more then enough photos.

yes, that's more than enough. it may even be overkill, especially if they are professional pictures. they do not need to see nearly 200 pictures of you and your spouse posing for a camera. they want to see pictures of you enjoying your life together. if the 190 pictures are of just you and your spouse, definitely scale it back a bit. it's important to have pictures with you and other people too. remember, it's QUALITY, NOT QUANTITY that counts. pick out the best ones, and save yourself some computer ink or printing cost.

as long as the pictures are clear, it doesn't matter how they are presented. i put 4-5 pictures on presentation slides and printed them out on regular paper. no issue, and no requests for more info.

I would also suggest putting more photos on each page to reduce the number of pages. We had about 80 photos on 9 pages.

I think 190 pics is more than enough. I called about the pictures and I was told that they don't necessarily want to see a lot of pictures but the pictures you send should be relevant. i.e. if you are talking about an outing that people you named were present at..then include those pictures if you have them. I sent in around 30 pics.

I don't remember where but when I was completing our application I remember very clearly that it was stated to keep the pictures loose and not to print them on a page. It won't affect the decision of course, but keep that in mind. It always helps to be nice to the officers :)

Where specifically is that written? perhaps it's country specific. while i remember the directions stating it is OK to send loose pictures, i don't recall it says pictures can NOT be printed on paper. that is exactly how i submitted all my pictures, and had absolutely no issues getting approved, nor was i ever asked to supply "loose" pictures. personally, i think having pictures laid out neatly and organized, and printing them out clearly on paper is quite "nice" for the officers.

I agree. That's how I submitted mine too. I even printed social network post too.

I thought about putting pics on a sheet of paper before, but I opted to use traditional loose photos with info written on the back instead. I felt the traditional photos were better quality and they cost way cheaper to produce.

I don't understand, you already compiled the 190 pics, why would you just delete over half your pictures? It's one thing to start from scratch and decide whether to go with 100 or 190, but when you already took the time to make 190, why reduce it to 100? You should only reduce it if you're sending in redundant pics, such as 2-3 pics of the same situation/event. The only event you should show multiples of are your wedding/engagement because that's an important occasion and you want to show the VO your wedding had roughly the correct # of guests attending, had your parents there, had the usual traditional stuff done at a wedding, etc.

mikey, the pictures seem to be professional pictures, so if the majority of the pictures are of the couple posing for the camera, there is no point in sending nearly 200 pictures in. what really needs to be said with 200 pictures, that half of that wouldn't accomplish? how does that show relationship validity more than choosing QUALITY pictures to represent the same thing? assuming there are other people in the pictures too, i think the visa officer will get the point after sifting through a few dozen of them!

sometimes with this application, less is more. remember how your notes stated they only took samples of your chats? this suggests to me that the more concise & straight forward the information the better. the visa officers do not want or need to be overwhelmed with information. the more info provided, the longer it will take the officer to get through it all and make a decision. why give the officer more work to do when a sampling of information is all they need.

Hello guys,

I have included most of the photographs from my engagement, wedding and reception. Besides that we had only one trip for which I have selected 6 photos and some family gatherings photo, thats it. So I deleted most of the photos from my wedding. Now I have included photographs of only the key rituals of wedding, where I have put only 6/7 photos of married couple, rest depicts the flow of how marriage rituals started and end up with. Any suggestions for me?

I remember seeing it somewhere else too, but on form IMM 3910 of the country specific instructions for the USA etc it says:

"Photos must be loose. Do not send them in binders, albums, frames, or other such containers. Do not send video discs or video cassettes. Do not send musical greeting cards or other similar documents containing electronic or mechanical devices."
