Number of applications received toward the overall cap

Hello,
From cic website it says, Applications received toward the overall cap: PhD stream 33 of 500 (as of August 18, 2014) !! This number is similarly small for FSWP ( only 1421 out of 25000). In university teacher category it is 14 only out of 1000 ! So far I know lot of my friend already applied and it should be more than what is shown in the website. I guess this figure is not right or if it is right then it only mean the processed application. Be aware guys do not relax and submit application ASAP.

Anybody has deep understanding regarding this figure?

My friend the number shown on CIC website is for those applications which are accepted and it takes a while for every application to be screened by the immigration officer and then update on website. Mine was delivered on 6th June. So far no news. As per forum discussion on some topics, May 2014 applicants r getting confirmation on their applications rest of the people need to wait a bit more
If someone have better advice, kindly share it.
