Hi all,

I need a suggestion here. I have applied for Nova Scotia Nominee Program as well as to the Federal Skilled Worker Program.

I was about to be nominated for the NSNP program while my FSWP is 'In Progress' (Got AOR) . Which should i prefer here?

Since my NSNP is in Final stage should i choose that? If i choose NSNP and get PR will i be able to work in any other province? Please suggest.

Hi,

you can have both applications running at the same time and no one will affect the other in any way even after you get your nomination from NSNP i suggest you apply for pr using it and once one of the applications reaches the final stage meaning the visa has been granted then you can withdraw the other.
as long as you do not move out of nova scotia before you land if you land as a provincial nominee then you are fine, once landed you are a permanent resident of CANADA and you can live/work/study anywhere else.
its better once you become a pr through a provincial nominee program not to leave the province that have nominated you right away, give it a few months or even better to be on the safe side.

good luck.

Nova Scotia requested me to with draw my FSWP applicaiton for them to proceed with the PR. Hence im Confused. Options given were to withdraw my Nova scotia application or to with draw FSWP so that Nova Scotia can process PR.

hello DSRK,

With all due respect, I think you complicated your situation when it was not necessary. Even though I've read in prior posts that applying simultaneously to a Provincial program and Federally is ok, I have a hard time understanding why people would do that. It could be seen as wasting CIC's resources, duplication of work, paying double application fees and possibly making mistakes or contradictions in your applications.

....anyhow, in your situation it's hard to advise; it really depends on where you wish to establish. If you already have an AOR from the Federal Gov. and you want to move to any province in Canada and waiting time is not an issue, stay with FSWP.
Otherwise, if you are confident you'll be nominated by NS and really intend to settle there, stay with the Province. Good luck!

Hi,

Thanks much for your suggestion and guidance. And my intention isn't to waste CIC resources. NSNP opened its quota on March. I applied for it and i havent received any response from them until end of May. FSWP started its program in the begining of May. I wasn't sure if my application reached on time for NSNP since i received no response i applied to FSWP as well. In this situation i have to go with what's best for me. And both their responses received on June, hence i got confused which one to choose from. I thought of deciding this upfront, so that i can with draw my application from one and give that space to someone else who is in queue.

Once again thanks for your response.

Hi Guys,

Can anyone here help me?
I would like to apply for NSNP to Nova Scotia, but I read on the website that it needs to have a permanent job offer first before submitting the application form. In short you have to submit your application form together with the employers form.

My question is, can I proceed in submitting my application while Im searching for a job in Nova Scotia?

TIA guys! ;D

If it says you need a job offer then you need a job offer before you can even start the application process.
