I was wondering why i was unable to post anything since yesterday, All the reply buttons were gone too. Anyways, Jan 15th Applicant. BG still "Not Applicable".

Hi umanitoba,
I really want to call CIC to find out what " the application waiting of officer review" means. However, I am afraid that any contact to CIC might lead to futher delay so I would stay away from the phone and keep waiting.......

I think the in depth security checks may take between 8 to 12 months - if not 16 months before a having a DM. I'm just going to assume that and move on with my life. It is less than of an ideal situation but I think it is a good life experience to learn how to decide and plan for future at times of high uncertainty. There will be some loss of opportunities but there will be some good gains too. The bottom line is we will learn how to manage situations like this in the future with minimal losses - an experience of high value.

At this point, I'm thinking that the 16 months is more of a rough estimate than an actual hard set timeline that they follow.

Since its already passed 18 months for me, contacted MP and last thing on my GCMS notes is "officer review". What possibly I can say when I am making a call to CIC. I am planning to call on coming Monday. That would be helpful.

Today just got the fresh AITP:
Security Status: Not Started
Due Date: 2017/02/25
Do they forget my file just leaving it on their desk corner or what? Really think it's necessary to expose their working altitude to public.
LMAO, they are still blaming on CSIS but it's actually not started.

Not started does not mean they are not working on your file. It simply says they have not found anything incriminating yet. You pray to god you get your security changed to passed and nothing else. Because anything else will not be in your favor.
