It's the same thing with me, basically after medical nothing happened and everything else passed but the main time consuming task is the security and it takes from 2 weeks - 6 months. Why they haven't started the security?

Also the other important question is that while your security has not been started many Dec applicants received PPR!!

Based on their risk assessment they decide the level of security check required for each case. Simple cases are done in one day or so. Others take much longer as you said.

Are you sure it is done by CBSA not CSIS?

Based on their risk assessment they decide the level of security check required for each case. Simple cases are done in one day or so. Others take much longer as you said.

But at least they can start the security earlier if the know that for example for this guy it will take 6 months. The reason for delay is that they start a task very late because outland applicants that for sure need more checks getting PPR through EE less than 6 months. My friend got his PPR from Ankara less than 5 months!

Mid January. Mine was a little bit different, in GCMS it shows PACE in 12 Jan, then it went to Complex Case and shows A87-PNP on 16 Jan because I had upfront medical from another CIC application and its close to expiration.

Case to learn: Don't do upfront medical

I see. Yeah, I realized upfront medical didn't do any good to me. Also, my security check is currently in progress (as of last week) and given my nationality I don't expect it to be done anytime soon.

Do you know how long the medicals must be valid before landing/PPR?

No worries bro, you are not alone. Nov 23rd 2015 applicants, BG in progress since Jan 13th, I am waiting in line too.
I think it is just the matter of time. Since we have been living here for a long time, studying, working, contributing to the society, everything is well. Officers will need go through the process, so let the officers do their job.
