My wife sent a web form. I know they probably won't do anything. Will update here if we receive a reply.

I feel you! Though it doesn’t take long to hit the impatience stage. I’ve been waiting since January 2024 myself. so yeah, take it easy!
Yikes 16 months that is absurd. What is holding your case up have you got in touch with IRCC what are they saying. I hope i hear somethign soon i don't want my case to fall out of the routine.

I'm currently in the background check phase (security screening). It's not unusual.
unfortunately, it can take anywhere from 1 day to over 2 years, depending on the case. Stay positive! You're still under the 10-month mark, and you're getting closer to the finish line.

Hi ladies and gents,

I just finished my oath ceremony, it was a lovely event with 62 people in attendance. (Vancouver). Instead of an e-certificate, they provided us with a hard copy, which is totally fine (trying not to be picky!).
Wishing you all the best, and to those still waiting for the process to be completed: just remember, there's always light at the end of the tunnel.
All the best to everyone!

I still haven’t got my gcms notes from ircc and even emailed them to chase that’s not been responded too either

Request from CBSA instead of IRCC. They're faster and you get more info in the GCMS notes too.

I got them before… should I ask a second time ? Is it worth it ?
I thought you were saying you couldn't get the notes from IRCC. If you already have them from CBSA, you're not missing anything from IRCC. IRCC redacts the CBSA notes.

Do you mean that IRCC redacts more information than CBSA? I haven’t reviewed CBSA notes recently but as far as I know both are subject to the same provisions under the Privacy Act or Access to Information Act. That said I’ve found the redaction process to be highly subjective. Some agents redact extensively while others disclose significant details.

The IRCC notes redact the info provided by CBSA, since they don't know what is allowed to be shared by CBSA. The CBSA notes include this information which usually doesn't need to be redacted, like showing your security and criminality status and provided by CBSA. The CBSA notes have all the other info contained in the IRCC notes. I prefer the CBSA notes over the IRCC notes.
