I applied for a visitor visa in November 2022 from Nigeria, Biometric done 9th of November 2022, No update yet from IRCC.

But the event date I was invited for has passed. Is there is hope for approval?

Same here, applied from Peru. Processing time says 117 days and I am at 145 I believe. I was able to contact IRCC and they could only confirm they received it and that it is IN FACT past processing time. No other comment or solution. So I guess all that is left is to wait?

Don’t know. Depends on your profile and processing times for your country. An event is not important to IRCC.
