I just received update in my online tracker account yesterday to take the test which is scheduled between 23rd jul to 12th Aug.
I am family applicant, from Montreal, my application was delivered on 6th Nov 2020
Finally some hopium for Montreal applicants! Mine was delivered on Nov 24 so I'm hoping my tracker will be updated soon.

A QQ to all who took the test......how current should our knowledge be (just for the Citizenship test)?

1. Should we know about the MPP / MP from our province?
2. Should we know the current electoral district count?
3. What about the governor general and other latest current affairs?
Is it in Discovery Canada book ? :)

Thats a good way to look at it, but some online practice tests do ask such questions hence asked. Discovery canada was written in 2012 a lot has changed since then - including the no. of electoral districts (308 vs 338), population etc.....

I believe they keep updating it to reflect latest changes, https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/ircc/migration/ircc/english/pdf/pub/discover.pdf - i.e. it looks like this one was updated this year
Yes/ I read only from the online version. I see some updates with respect to the oath - below line has been added.

Including the Constitution Which recognizes and affirms The Aboriginal and treaty rights of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples

But the other details i had asked - like current gov general, electoral district etc., has not changed.

Hey guys! So I read the Discovery Canada booklet, made some notes and took a couple of practice tests. Do you recommend anything else I can do to maximize my chances? They sometimes ask questions about a random name that only appears once for sth very minor so I'm a bit worries about questions like that (e.g. who John Buchan was).

Discover Canada is the main resource. Read the entire book at least once.

In addition to that, prepare using the following:

Notes from Discover Canada and Sample tests.

I took the test on 12th July and a tracker was updated on 14th as completed. Thanks for your help and support. I will keep posted as I get more updates.
