Anyone else here waiting for the "prohibitions" step to be completed?

Last update on my profile was more than 2 months ago! How come this check can take so long?! Is this a recurrent issue? People here who had their background check completed also waited this long?

Yes, there are. My last update was on June 25, 2021. Citizenship test activity status updated on April 21, 2021. Language Skills, Physical Presence and Prohibitions still In Progress. Processing Office - Ottawa. At this point, I guess they can do whatever they like. I am now numb to their delays.

This message I received from my local MP about status of my application:

Immigration has provided the following details.
-Security and criminality are complete
-waiting on review for language & residency
-back log created due to Covid. Review team is working on files from June 2019 although they could not provide a timeline the agent did say things are moving a little quicker so we should start to see results shortly.
If no further news after 2 months do not hesitate to contact me for another follow up.

Hello all,

On Aug 5 I was requested for an interview and will await the interview date/ reasoning.

Thanks!

According to the spreadsheet 42% of Nov 2019 applicants still haven't gotten their test invitation, and 64% haven't reached DM on their files o_O

Any Nov-2019 applicant, who got GCMS notes, could you share if your GCMS notes have 'File Transfer History' records? especially for Toronto (Scarbro) applicants.

I got my GCMS notes, and the 'File Transfer History' section is empty. My theory is that may be the file is transferred at the end of Feb-2020 to Scarbro office, but Due to early March-2020 lockdown the file either sitting somewhere (or) not dispatched at all and no one touched it. That's why that section might be empty for me.

But want to cross-check with other Nov-2019 applicants GCMS notes to prove this theory. Thanks for the help.

@harirajmohan @rajkamalmohanram you said your GCMS notes have 'File Transfer History'. If all the offices are closed, where did they send the physical file to? Directly to agent home, if they are working from home?

Here's a breakdown of the first ever GCMS notes I received that shows the file transfer history.

My file was transferred by CPC-Sydney to Mississauga IRCC on 10th March. Mississauga IRCC received it on 19th March and was set to "Test Ready" on 24th March.

I guess the files are sent to the respective offices and officers go to the office to collect the files? Not sure.

Thanks. Yours in 2021 so they might have streamlined some process by then. Not sure what happened with 2019 files (early 2020 transfers)

I think it is a mistake to send an application on year end . People who submitted mid/new year had better luck than the end of years one.

I think this is true. They aim for certain number of applications every year, and those are usually achieved from earlier months.

Whenever I see someone applied after me gets a DM (just saw someone applied after me by 9 MONTHS got DM on their files  ) I feel IRCC plays favorites. It's probably not true although it escapes me why exactly these people progress before us, but it's difficult not to take things personally since we submitted everything they need to process our applications and they haven't asked for anything else, yet they select some people to progress faster than others. I haven't ever felt so frustrated in my life in being treated unfairly

I completely agree with you. The system should be more fair and unbiased.
