nothing...complete silence since february..no biometrics no file transfer

Why haven't you called immigration? I call them every 2 weeks for updates. Waiting 6 months for updates is just a bit too much to expect.

Congrats! Can you share your timelines please?
Thanks

Oh I did get an email March 12th that I was approved to sponsor and my fike was being transferred to cpc Mississauga. I have called again to immigrstion and yes it's in fact being processed in Mississauga now. Just doing criminality now. But criminality is so slow to do its frustrating
I was responding to @Nidajk. :)

You have received passport request on the same day (April 18th) that you got notice that they are starting processing background check?. I have never heard of getting passport request before starting the important background check.
Yeah I got both on Same. It depends on officer working on our file. They may update everything in one shot and send passport request

I have been thinking to do that but since everyone normally gets the same response, 12 month time, I haven’t yet. I’m thinking of sending a webform inquiry or an email instead but willing to wait for start of May, almost 6 months would have gone by. Don’t know how that much patience i got in me though!
Yeah, I really sympathize with how frustrating it's gotta be. My thought in calling is only to ask explicitly if your file has been transferred anywhere. Usually it seems like they do tell people where and when it was transferred if it was. If they give you an evasive answer about it taking 12 months, etc, my guess is it's still in Sydney. :(

Normal part of the process. We went 7 months with nothing. Calling every 2 weeks isn't going to change that, unfortunately.

Well I’m planning to wait one more week. I hope and pray they communicate something themselves. If not next week I will contact them!

Being patient is the best you can do at this point, for sure. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you, as well as the other ones stuck in Sydney. I would still hold out some hope that once you are transferred they'll expedite your applications (perhaps they really will be able to get the background check done ahead of time, etc). There was that one poster last week who mentioned finally being transferred after 5+ months, so maybe there'll be more movement soon....

I know but it's nice to get updates what's happening. Rather then sitting wondering. Esp after 7 months.
