We are excited to settle down in Canada after having realized that the US isn’t for us. It was a learning curve for us both and now with a clear idea of what we want and desire going forward, we know where exactly we wish to accomplish those goals.

Over the last two years, we have actively talked about not only relocating back to Canada but finally purchasing our first home. Of course, we are still at the beginning of that dream, as we were unsure where our future was leading us as we tried to reside in the US in attempt to settle here. Although, thanks to the offered help of housing us rent free from (The Sponsors) mother, we are able to finally start to see our dreams of one day owning a home become a reality, as we are eager to return and start to save up for our house where we can settle down and start a family.

Our goals are to save enough to put a down deposit on a home once we return. We are eager to purchase property with some land in either northern Ontario, Alberta or British Columbia, although we have been heavily leaning toward Alberta as of late.

Another huge drive why we are moving back to Canada is because Sponsors side of the family all lives there. Due to the nature of our relationship (Same-sex marriage), my parents (the Principal Applicant) have not been supportive and have showed zero interest of wanting to accept us back into their lives. After almost two years of not talking to them, it’s clear that we are not in their future, so therefore we have made the choice to exclude them from ours as well.


Sponsors family, however, have been more than welcoming and supportive of our marriage, offering moral support and love for so many years. When we go to visit, everything feels right at home back in Canada and every time we leave to return to the US, we are devastated and it takes us a while to get back to our normal lives.
Should we have children of our own after settling in to our own home, we want them to have a supportive network of family members, that they wouldn’t otherwise get down here in the US. We also want them to grow up in safe, welcoming and accepting country that is progressive.

So our plans, in summary, when we return are as follows:

- To live with Sponsors mother in Port Stanley, Ontario which will gives us the opportunity to save for our future as we will be living rent-free.

-In about 2-3 years time, we would like to purchase a home in either Northern Ontario or Alberta

- While we wait, we want to spend as much time as possible with family, as some of them are getting older and we don’t want to waste any more time than we feel we have while in the United States.

- We want to explore more of Canada as a family.

-Finally, after 2-3 years time, purchase our first home together.

Then after we accomplish our short-term goals, we will begin a new journey toward possibly expanding our family and retirement.

Excluded names for privacy.

This sounds like a detailed plan to me and like it should be enough. When researching about what kind of proof to provide it seems that most people say that it is most important for them to see that you have a plan and really thought about moving back. Some also say that it is good to give a timeline of the steps you will take before and after your move. For us that means that we need to cancel our apartment 3 months before we actually move out which is also when we would buy our plane tickets. And then a week before we actually move out of our apartment, the moving company will pick up our stuff, just something like this. We haven't actually written this letter yet and are currently working on it but obviously this will show how much thought you put in it.

GCKEY - it’ll change from we requested you to undertake a medical to you passed the medical.

ECAS just shows medical received, but mine only did this once GCKEY updated.

ECAS just shows medical received, but mine only did this once GCKEY updated.
