November 2018 Outland Applicants (Spousal Sponsorship)

I haven't had SA approval or medical request yet and I'm from the UK (the PA). I will insert just a section of the letter as it was quite long:

"You need to take this letter with you and go in person to any biometric collection service point to have your fingerprints and photograph taken. • If you are outside Canada or the United States, you may go to any Visa Application Centre (VAC) most convenient to you."

They did mention that you can't do it at a Canadian airport (only students and workers are able to do that upon arrival). Also just a note, we paid for biometrics with the initial PR fee so if you didn't do that I imagine you get a payment request first

edit: There is only one VAC in the UK which is in London, according to the IRCC website.

Yes, we paid for it upfront but I didn't really know what the timeline was for biometrics since it's a newer thing I've not read much about. My husband is also from UK so I'm just wondering if we'll be getting the same result also.

SA status will only be mentioned in the ecas when you have logged in via the sponsors details

When did you get this message? I'm 11/30/18, and I have not received anything yet!

My Sponsor got this message on 25th of Jan 2019.

I sent the application on 24th Nov from UAE as Outland Family Sponsorship application. The application was received by C.Floyd at 30th of November 2018. The email was sent from Sydney, NS. I haven't been able to link the application yet.

We’ve still got plenty of time, mine was received on the 21st and when I called they said it’s just not been processed yet.

When did you call which options you selected to be serviced? My husband tried but could not

I called IRCC on this number - 18882422100. I just listened to the menu options and followed the instructions (don't remember what options I selected). I called in the morning around 10 and the wait time was half an hour.

We just noticed through ecas using my husband's info (the sponsor) that it says 'Decision Made' for sponsor approval (I don't know when this changed as we haven't been checking his side!) but when we click on it, there isn't any indication as to what the decision is? Can anybody help?

Also on my side (the PA) it says:

1. We sent you a letter on January 27, 2019. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Do you think that would be the biometrics that I received via email yesterday?

There's no reason to believe you're not approved as sponsor unless you didn't meet the requirements.

I have a representative and I'm not allowed to link the application to my account. I was wondering what are the other ways to get updates on your application.

Not the same, but enough for you to know what's going on. I always found ECAS more accurate anyway.
