I landed at IRCC Winnipeg this morning. They gave a 3 hour window of time to show up, rather than an appointment time, which was fine--we waited about 40 minutes?

Yeah, I called them on Monday and they told me that London office hasn't received the application yet, after they receive it, it will then be added to the "landing queue" so I guess it will probably take some time maybe a week or two!

I have a rather spontaneous husband, so his proposal of a day away in downtown Vancouver sounded great. He wanted to be in charge of planning the day~ perhaps that should have aroused suspicion in me, but it didn’t...

Yesterday was our big day away. The first surprise of the day was when on the way to the ferry, he turned off route and within minutes, we were at the Helijet terminal. The helicopter ride over was spectacular~ his first time on a helicopter, so it was fun to see his great excitement.

He shared that we were going to have lunch at Davie Dosa (a South Indian restaurant), so we started walking down Hornby Street. Still no clue on my part, other than what seemed like giddy excitement about this restaurant.

I honestly had a few seconds warning that that it was the day we had been long waiting for. He stopped in front of a building and pulled out a brown envelope from his backpack and showed me his landing interview letter. Unbelievable...

Luckily, we had 20 minutes of waiting before being called, so I could process what was going on. We had a lovely agent at window 4 named Paul. I only had to be gently reminded once by Paul, that my husband was the one who was immigrating and had to answer the questions, and not me~ hahaha. When Paul stood up to shake my husband’s hand and welcome him to Canada, it was a memorable moment and it hit me that the PR ordeal was over.

The celebratory lunch was great, as was the rest of the afternoon and the helicopter ride home. In the restaurant, I was already able to link the PR Card application on My CIC, as suggested by @barsarah.

So that’s my update. We got PA DM on June 27th, landing letter on July 9th and the interview letter came on July 15th. Best of luck for a fast end process to all who are still waiting!

Can't help but to mention that your husband raised the bar so high now with all the helicopter rides and stuff . Whoever reads it now is going to expect something similar from their spouses LOL!!! Koodoos to your husband and wish you 2 all the best in your new exciting chapter in life.

@barsarah! I’m thrilled that you are still around in the forum, so I have the chance to thank you for your guidance. Both you and @Geno.uss have been invaluable in getting though the process.

The helicopter ride was very exciting and only happened as there is a flash sale every evening where prices drop to $79. each way, to the island and back. It did add the celebrity touch to the whole experience.

Thanks again for your words of wisdom. Every step of the way, it was just great knowing what was ahead.
