On the spreadsheet there are only 8 people so I can't get a good idea of how many are actually awaiting OWPs and it looks like some are waiting a long time.

I am just scared that if my "date received" on GC key is now February that my progress has been reset and have to wait again or until AIP.

So the PA was out of status the whole time the applications were out of your hands? You got a response saying you won't receive OWP until AIP because of what? You submitted your OWP with your restoration application, like it tells you to in that link you were provided. Which criteria did you miss? And which online tool are you using for your checking your OWP ?

Why would they get PR soon if they resubmitted only in November?

I don't have a tool to check OWP as we were not able to link so aside from the webform, I don't have another way of figuring out what has been completed. I assume it has something with leaving and reentering the country that changed the circumstances. Assuming OWP processing started in January, the application was probably treated as a submission by an applicant without status as re-entering the country would have "restored" his status, if you will.

@Geno.uss i appreciate the well wishes :) Based on July applicants, it looks like everything is moving faster so fingers crossed.

Thanks, we call several times in different days and it's always the same message with the high volume of calls, blah...We never got through. Is there an optimal time of day/day of the week, etc. that gives better chances to actually speak to an agent?

I'm sorry I was confused. You got the email saying you didnt qualify for the OWP until AIP and then afterwards you resubmitted the OWP with restoration? And after that regained entry to Canada and got a visitor permit?

So the PA now has valid status?

Also how did it go when reentering Canada? Questions? Hassle?

*edit* did they specifically why the PA didnt qualify for OWP, which on the list?

Actually updates for October applicants just started! That's very exciting! Everything is moving faster definetly!

We submitted everything before we left the country and i followed up in the last week about OWP.
Entry was fairly easy. No questions. No hassle. We really were gone for less than 5 days. They didn't specify what he wasn't eligible for but I assume it has something to do with status.

Okay. Well if his status restored, the processing clock of the OWP should've started, according to the agent I spoke to.

It's up to you if it's worth leaving the application in or withdrawing. As @Geno.uss said, if you get DM then soon then the work permit wont be for very long and I think you can get a refund if they haven't started "processing". It all comes down to the speed of these situations, your PA and myself are in a similar situation but I am dec14th applicant with status renewed towards the end of January.

What date did you resubmit your OWP/restoration? Keep me posted if you could!

We submitted PR application and OWP late July and the application was returned in September. We then resubmitted late October with the restoration. Probably will leave OWP as is just in case.

We called again this morning as today is exactly 4 months ( November 27th). The man we spoke to said he would email the person who is working on our file as it has passed the 116 days that they estimate. Fingers crossed it will finally be approved!!!!

Another week finished and still no OWP ☹️☹️☹️☹️

November 27th
Strange you're passed the 4 months. Have you called IRCC? Were you in status when you applied for everything and in status now?

Yes and we called and spoke to someone 4 times now. The last time the agent said we should have had it by now and he would send an email to the person working on it to let him know....that was on March 27th. Still nothing since then!!!! Just really baffled as thought it would be simple. Been together for 11 years, married for 9, child and both have multiple university degrees and no red flags are just an average family.
