November 2018 - Citizenship Applications

Hi,
I took the test in the Scarborough centre on 26th March and got decision made on 30th March. Upon calling them, they assured me that my file was ceremony ready. They said it would take 3-6 weeks to get the oath letter, but I haven’t received anything back from them. Ordinarily I would not be concerned, but I saw someone post that they gave the test from the same centre on 26th April and got DM on 30th April (one month after I got mine), however got the oath letter on 1st May and the ceremony was held on 15th May.

I would not be concerned, I am just curious because the other person got their application processed sooner. Maybe they were just lucky, or maybe their case was different, I am just wondering if there is anywhere else that I can get more details from.

I know that i should wait 2-3 business days in order to apply for passport ,but since i will send my application by mail to Gatineau ,so can i sign it today and send it ? because it will takes 2 business days to be delivered there ,so on Tuesday will be there because Monday is state ,is it ok ?

As long as you are sure that your ecas says "Completed" before your package reaches passport office (or officer initiate your passport work), there should not be problem. Canadapost normally takes the guarantee time, most of the time it takes more than that. However, often times (from my experience) it delivers earlier than guarantee time.

Conclusion: To be on safe side, and if you can wait, send your application package only after your ecas says "Completed".

No questions asked. Just presented my passports and IDs and signed papers. Was told to wait for oath which should be in a few months she said. Hopefully soon. I asked her if she doesnt have questions for me. She said all good, that I did everything I need to do. Thanks.
