I raised a CSE two days ago just to know in which VO my application was. I received this message today:

Your application is currently being processed at the Case Processing Centre in Ottawa, Ontario,

What does that mean? Is it my primary or secondary office? I don’t really know the difference from secondary and primary office; I’m totally lost on this one (and honestly I only raised the ticket because everyone here, but me, knew about their VO xD)

Hi, I am pretty sure is your primary office. I did the same and they told me mine is Winnipeg and when I ordered the notes my primary office shows Winnipeg. Someone in this forum told me that the secondary office is the one who delivers the final decision.

On the other hand, one of my closest friends who applied on December 18th got her PPR. We were both supposed to apply on Nov 28 (my AOR date), but she got lazy and applied later. Look how that worked out huh?

Happy for her! *grinds teeth in frustration inside*
Posts like these really makes me believe there is no god lol:D:D:D

Secondary office is usually the local vo but in some cases the final decision is also made by the primary office,

Damn straight! Makes me wonder if it would’ve made a difference if I applied two days later and went into December AOR. But all in good time. The world doesn’t end if my PPR is delayed by a month. April is our time to shine.

Hopefully, April brings in good news for us!! Waiting sucks but as long as you get the PPR thats all that matters :)

50 days to go as per the timeline and no news since the adr request... Phew..
@SithLord since my spouse is non-accompanying, her work and educational info cannot be used to claim points and I have stuck to this stance since I got my ITA..

Hoping for an update soon.., btw, making repeated GCMS requests in frequency of 30 days, does it have any -ve impact on one's file/application and its progress??
Hi, I am in the same boat.. Non accompanying spouse.. Can I ask for your timeline.. I am stuck in IP 1 since 19 dec.. No update since

And are Centralized Intake Office in Ottawa and Case Processing Center in Ottawa the same thing? or what's the difference?

No they are different.

Centralized Intake Office are the offices that accept all EE applications do the R10 checks and from there they are sent to different CPC offices to distribute the work load.

So, normally, an application goes first to a Centralized Intake Office and later on it's sent to a Primary office and to a Secondary office afterward? Or does the CIO counts as the primary office?

I don't think CIO is considered as primary office. But there are some cases which are entirely processed in CIO then for those candidates CIO Sydney or Ottawa acts as primary office.

But this is what I have learnt, generally all applications go to CIO Sydney or Ottawa and after R10 checks they are sent to different VOs which are normally the primary office to do the background checks. If the application needs further review then they are again sent to local VO(LVO) of the candidate, this is secondary office. "Ready For Visa" email can come from either one offices.

In Sept thread I read one applicant got 3 "Ready For Visa" emails. He had 1 primary office and 2 secondary office and all 3 sent that email lol

So in my case, my primary office is CPC-Ottawa. I don't have a secondary office yet as per my GCMS notes but if I get one in future then it will probably be NDVO.
