Seems like the time between Application received and In Process is about 30 days. Atleast that's what seems to be the cases for a lot of the applicants. Hopefully my application will transition to in process soon, Inshallah.

Does anyone know whether the oath date is given by CIC or do you just go to one of the open to public dates?

You'll be invited to a ceremony at a specific date and time, once your application has been approved.
Lot of IPs, not many test interviews.
Hopefully getting there.
I did mine in Scarborough last year. And they always send you a schedule for the oath taking ceremony (pink letter as far as I believe) due to the volume of people. I am not sure, but this should be the same as other provinces.
