I just got DM on ECAS today and I'm from early nov so I'd keep waiting just a bit longer. Of course it probably wouldn't hurt to email them to order notes just for some peace of mind but I'm sure it's ok. :)

Could you tell me what your email said?

Good Morning,

I am writing to you as I have been informed that our sponsorship application has been approved on February 6th 2017. I am the applicant and haven't had any contact since then. I was advised that normally an email would be received by the applicant within a week or two asking for a copy of their passport.

We haven't received this request and it has now been 5 weeks since the decision was made on Ecas. Could you please advise what we should do?

Thank you for your assistance.

I never received an actual reply to the email but the PPR came through I think 2 days later. Could be a coincidence but after a 5 week wait I doubt it! Also like you say others seem to get what they are waiting for shortly after contacting the VO

How do I request notes?

Go here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp and click on Apply Online. That would be the easiest way.

Also, here is an excellent thread that explains everything about them: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/gcms-notes-well-explained-has-never-before-until-now-t390292.0.html

Hi,

I would like to add my newborn baby boy to my application which is in newdelhi. Could you please share the email-id for visa office and if you have any suggestions please let me know..

Thankyou.

I am thinking about emailing for an update or to at least nudge Ottowa. I am due to leave Canada in 3.5 weeks for work and then will be in and out of the country all summer (I'm a wedding photographer and work in the States and visit with my partner and stepson when I'm off work)

I have serious concerns that my app being in process will affect my ability to go back and forth.

Who would I email?
I ordered my notes last Friday and nothing has changed on myCIC and my ECAS hasn't changed since November.

I'm not sure, my office was Ottawa. I found the email address on CIC website, this page http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions/new-delhi.asp shows an email for New Delhi as DELHI-IMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca

Congratulations! And I'm sure it'll be ok, as well, but I don't want to wait a few more weeks before contacting them, when I could contact them now and (hopefully) get this straightened out. From what I've read, it seems like 2-4 weeks of background check is normal. People who go beyond that, typically end up contacting their VO and "coincidentally" hear something soon after. I figure, why wait? As long as it doesn't hurt anything. The issue is, I really want to apply to jobs now, but I'm not going to until I know I'm approved. (It's not a matter of whether or not I'll be approved, it's when).

I sent my email to CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca

Hope it works for you too and you get your DM soon!

Another November 2016 applicant here. Getting close now... while MyCIC is still telling me that things are in progress, ECAS updated to "Decision Made" today. Hoping it's a good sign!

E-mailing them should progress your app and you should hear something very soon.

Welcome! And congratulations on your DM, that is usually a very good sign! :) Please share your timeline and VO if you care to.

It wasn't a long wait at all - ended up getting the PPR email at about 9pm Ottawa time. Surprisingly late, I thought!

I'll put in my details on the spreadsheet. :)

Got PPR in the night. Nearly there! In case anyone is curious I'm an American living in Germany and my VO is Ottawa but PPR and COPR are from Vienna. Just thought I'd share since I wasn't sure how it would be handled.
