Singapore VO requested DNA tests to be completed for my wife and for my child. The time it takes for SVO to schedule a DNA sample collection in Bangladesh is not very encouraging; we probably need to wait a bit longer.

I logged into MyCIC today and got really excited for a split second! The presentation of information had changed from one or two words to full sentences. Ex: Application status used to just say "Open", now it says "We received your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you."; medicals used to just say "Passed", now it says "You passed the medical exam." All field have changed to full sentences, but the info is still the same - so nothing really to get excited about.

Anyone else have this change in their MyCIC?

After I read this, I went to MyCIC to see the new update and got excited for a split second too! I looked at the BGC box and it starts off with "Your application is in progress." I initially took that to mean my BGC is in progress, but then I continued reading "The next step is to conduct a background check," and was immediately bummed. Oh well, it's bound to happen soon enough!

My background check is still in progress since Feb 21. So for me it says:

"Background check We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information."

Hey everyone,

I've been reading a few posts about the date people put in their paperwork that they're moving back to Canada. This got me worried because we put December 2017. We thought we would apply in October 2016 (but my medical exam delayed that), and CIC had a 14 month processing time at that point, so we put December as our move date, meaning we'll move as soon as we get COPR. This was before I realized it takes 4-6 months for US applicants. Anyway, should I clarify anything through an inquiry, or is it not a big deal?

I put an earlier date because I filled out my paperwork online and I couldn't type "asap" I put Jan 17 which has passed and I got a letter asking to prove I was in Canada even though I wasn't, so we just sent in a letter explaining the situation and re-did the form and put May 17 instead.

I'm saying I wouldn't worry until they ask for more information. Otherwise if you get approved before the date you put, I'm sure you can move before that.

***ALSO UPDATE

Our CIC did update as well, I know it was just a system update, but for the interview it said "not needed at this time", and now it says "you do not need an interview" and for background check, it said "not started" and now it says "we are processing" so update or not we are moving forward and are very excited!

I don't really understand my status change.

for background check : "not applicable"- i think before it read not started or not needed at this time
for final decision : "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made."

so does that mean they're conducting back ground check or not?
what does background check "not applicable" mean....

your clarification is greatly appreciated.

I've read some members have that 'Not Applicable' on their Background Check, too. I wouldn't worry too much, maybe it just didn't update well as it's supposed to. ;D I'll do more research about it.

Maybe the codes were messed up. ;D ;D Not Applicable is supposed to be for Review of Documents..not Background Check..This will warrant another update, I believe.

For Background in progress, it would be:

"Background check - We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information."

And for not started:

"Background check - Your application is in progress. The next step is to conduct a background check."

Review of documents is also not applicable. So based on your understanding also BC is in progress?

Review of eligibility We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements. Help
Review of medical results You passed the medical exam. Help
Review of additional documents Not applicable. Help

Yes, if CIC didn't ask for any additional document, then there'd be no document to review, hence the definition 'Not Applicable.'

For your background check, I couldn't say. At this stage, do applicants from Dakar undergo Background Check already? It could be in progress, it could be not.. Wait until tomorrow if it changes. But if your Background Check has started, it'd be stated as "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information."

I believe there's a glitch in the system.

i'll keep an eye on it.
I have ye to see anyone dealing with Dakar for the months of Sept to now. So i am not sure.
