Hello Everyone.

We submitted our application on November 15th.
Today, February 22nd, we got a request for additional information on proof of sponsors intent to return to Canada.
I am sending them a response tomorrow, February 23rd.

I have a large list of things I am sending in order to suffice their request :

Quote from letter I am sending :
I have attached the following documents/information with this package:
1. Scanned copy of my Alberta Identification/Driver’s License (residence proof)
2. Scanned copy of my Alberta HealthCare Card
3. Letter from me
4. Letter from my parents residing in Edmonton, Canada
5. Letter from my grandparents residing in Edmonton, Canada
6. Registration and proof of ownership of vehicle I own in Edmonton, Canada
7. Screenshot of my college courses for the 2015/2016 years (education proof)
8. Screenshot of my E-letters from my college
9. Screenshot of emails with my college from June 2016
10. Screenshot of my bank account
11. Screenshots of Facebook and Google Hangouts messages from friends and family talking about my long awaited return
12. Screenshots of my husband’s ESL program he wishes to take upon arrival
13. Screenshots of my husband’s Mechanical Engineering program he wishes to take after ESL courses
14. This letter from me describing our plans upon arrival

Does this seem like enough ?
And does anyone have any idea how long it usually takes after they recieve these documents ?
Just approximate time or any idea at all of what is happening after I send these? What are the next steps ?
Please help !

Well I came to my home country for vacation on April 28th of 2016, ended up falling in love and getting married in September, and stayed until now.

Hello fellows,

I've got this email from my VO today!!

Thank you for linking your application to an online account!
Greetings,

Thank you for applying to immigrate to Canada!

And a big thank you for linking your application to an online account.

We wanted to let you know that we are working on your application. From now on, we will contact you through your online account. Please check your account regularly in case we ask for anything, and to check on the status of your application.

Sincerely

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada

I am just puzzled as I linked to my application since 22th December and every thing even background check was in progress!! so then it means they started to work on my application just now!!!!! :-X And whether other applicants from Ankara receive this email!

It depends on your Visa Office, it can take from a day to a month or two.
My visa office is Warsaw, Poland.
I have seen people get it in after a day, but since of my intent request, i wonder how long it will be... :-X

I'm not complaining. I suspect the biggest problem is people don't realize that *everyone* sees the changes when they sort/filter the data. I don't think you need to restrict anything, people just need to be aware of what they're doing. The great thing about it is that anyone encountering it can also view all the changes and revert it back to the one before the problem occurred. I can tell you that's happened quite a few times on all the spreadsheets. It's usually not a big deal.
Thanks danawhitaker, +1! I knew it was a simple fix, I just couldn't figure out how to fix it haha.

Not a problem. There's a spot where it says something like, "Last edit was made blahblah ago." If you click on that link, then it will take you to a list of revisions. You can see what was changed, and then the option to revert is available there.

Hello All,

Just a quick question/update. We received a request for more information. This is what the letter was asking for:

SPR's residency: Evidence that your sponsor resides in Canada. This includes but is not limited to: pay stubs, T4 slips, utility bills, and banking history. Driver’s licences, Property tax assessments, Social Insurance or Health Insurance cards are not sufficient

The only problem is, we applied OUTLAND. I, the sponsor, do NOT live in Canada. I live in the United States with my wife. On 2 separate forms, it's marked that I do not live in Canada and that I intend to move there with my wife as soon as our application is approved. I also included lots of proof of intent. (We kept an entire copy of our application so I know we filled it out correctly.)

So my question is, why would they ask this? Is this a mistake?!

The only thing I can see what could be wrong is that on a form, it asked when we plan on moving back, but since we don't know when we'll be approved, we didn't know when we'll move; seems like a catch-22 question. And you can't submit the form with the date blank, so I just put a date in and now its past that date, do they think were there? or that I'm (the sponsor) there? How can I know when I'll move when they don't tell you when your approved until you ARE approved?

Just a little frustrated, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hope all is well with everyone else!

I think you must have received the letter because of the return date you put. I was able to write ASAP in the place where they asked for a specific date and then explained that I was returning with my husband when he is approved in the letter I attached with my proof of intent to return.

If I were in your situation I would simply write a letter explaining the situation, that you still intend to return to Canada with your spouse, summarize the evidence you sent before and include any new proof of your intent to return - maybe you've made some arrangements, bought plane tickets, notified your boss (abroad) that you'll be resigning (mine wrote me a letter stating she's always known of my intent to return to Canada), done some job searching for when you arrive in Canada, etc. since submitting the application.

Having to prove intent to return is one of the things that has stressed me the most about this application! It's so difficult because it depends on the outcome of the application! We've recently submitted plane tickets and the venue deposit of an event we're hosting after arriving in Canada - if they request more evidence I'm afraid the only thing we'll be able to do is transfer the majority of our foreign money to my Canadian bank account as proof of preparation to live there as we've already submitted everything we possibly can!

Thank you for your advice. I really think its because of the date I put. But when I filled out the forms on the computer, it only let me put in a date, so I just did January 1, which I know realize is a terrible, but HOPEFUL date to put haha.

I also have included so much proof of intent to move back, so I'm not sure what else I can do either. I work for myself, so I can't really show any employers knowing I'm moving back so I am my employer, maybe I'll write a letter to myself! haha! I do like the ideas for having a deposit receipt for a homecoming party, as well as I can transfer more money to my Canadian bank account.

Thanks again for your help. We'll all be back in Canada together soon!

My partner and I got basically the exact question but it was followed by a statement about proof to reside. Is yours the same as below?

SPR's residency: Evidence that your sponsor resides in Canada. This includes but is not limited to: pay stubs, T4 slips, utility bills, and banking history. Driver’s licences, Property tax assessments, Social Insurance or Health Insurance cards are not sufficient Please provide proof that you intend to reside in Canada. This includes but is not limited to copies of correspondence with: potential employers, real estate companies, property rental agencies, health care agencies, insurance agencies, financial institutions, etc. Please provide as many indicators as possible as any single one of these may not be enough on its own to prove intent of residency.
I also double and triple checked all our forms and don't see anything incorrect and we gave what I still feel like was sufficient proof to return. Anyway, we uploaded as much additional proof as we could come up with after the request. I have the feeling that some of the agents handling the cases are just more persnickety than others.
