November 2016 - Citizenship Applicants

Hi,

They issued me CIT0520 after the test as I was missing two stamps into the US.

CIT0520 is requesting.

All pages from passport
Rental/Lease agreement
Paystubs
Children school records
CRA Notice of assessments
Bank/Credit card statements
Medical Records
USA entries/exit records

I have applied for FOIA Entry/Exit in US and have rest of the documents.

Any suggestions welcome

i know the question is addressed to steve but since i recently applied for it ,here is what i found out,
Its definitely recommended to apply for the FOIA report since it will take them more then 40 days to generate the report.
Make sure you attach your passport and PR copy when you request for it.

At time of interview on the day of test, the officer checked all other documents and said my case was good and said that the only concern he had was the missing entries in US on passport
One missing stamp was present on the online i94 print that I had with me and he was okay with that.
But the other stamp was from 2011 and that did not show up on the online i94 travel history....he said he will request for entry exit records.

So they issued the CIT0520 they requested much more documents...

If I had the FOIA records he probably would not have even issued me the CIT0520............

I would highly recommend FOIA request if you have missing USA entry stamps on passport.................

I would not recommend requesting CBSA records if your application is already in process....

The application is online and there is a button at the bottom to attach passport copies.
Instead of PR you can attach US visa copy....


I followed the following posts....

If anybody is still interested in this,
I ordered FOIA records ( https://foiaonline.regulations.gov/foia/action/public/home ).

First, I created an account.

After that I created a request with following details:

Agency: U.S. Customs and Border Protection
Reason: I wrote that I need my travel records for immigration purposes in Canada, that
at least one entry is missing in I-94 online report, and my passport details (country, number).

I also attached a photo of the passport bio page and a photo of the page with the US visa.

In the "max amount" field I entered $100, but they didn't charge me anything.

I was expecting this to take weeks (or maybe even months), but I received an email
with a PDF file with the requested report the very next day (!!!).

And the most important part is that the entry that is missing in I-94 records is there!!

Here's how to request it:

1- go to this link: https://foiaonline.regulations.gov/foia/action/public/request/publicPreCreate
2- create an account or continue as a guest ( I recommend the creation of an account)
3- select the agency: CBP FOIA division
4- fill in all your personal information.
5- type of record requested it will be: Entry/ exit
6- in the description put the details of your request.
7- click preview and submit.

That's all
