Hello,

New user to this forum - would like to share my timeline.

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on November 26, 2014.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on February 9, 2015. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We started processing your application on February 27, 2015.

Your file was transferred to the Scarborough Citizenship Operations office on March 12, 2015. The Scarborough Citizenship Operations office will contact you.

We sent you a notice on April 17, 2015 to appear and write the citizenship test on May 4, 2015 at 8:15 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

I passed the test, and the interview literally took 5 minutes. The interviewer asked some basic questions and told me that I'll receive the oath ceremony letter in 2-4 months.

I have noticed that the oath time has little to do with when the citizenship test is done, instead, it correlates to when your application was initially sent. Statistically speaking, CIC tries to finalize the entire process within a year, most of the cases, it takes 8-10 months.

Certain applicants have had their test sooner after AOR, but waited long between the test and taking oath, and vice versa.

Here is my time line:

Hello friends,
This is to update you that my call today with CIC Calling Centre was positive. The agent was able this time to confirm that my RQ response was received and complete :D. I have been scheduled for a test. The agent wasn’t sure when? Does anyone have any idea when I should expect the test to be set up?
