Hello Everyone,

I am so frustrated with what is happening with my PR application. I am Nov 2013 applicant and turned IP feb 2015. I phoned CIC last week to know about the status and the agent said call then again if I dont receive anything until April 15th and since nothing heard from them I phoned them again and the agent said she cannot give update as my application has no update. She said that she sent an email to the processor and they will give me update within one week up to 90days. If I dont receive anything until July 15 which is the 20th month of my application, she told me to call them again.. I feel so frustrated Sad Sad Sad
Does anyone with the same situation?

Thank you in advance..

you should engage your local MP into this as they have access to immigration directly and MP can get you the exact update within few days.

Sorry to hear that but Yes my friend from SK is in the same situation . She applied in NOV 2013 as well and has done her medical twice now once in DEC 2014 and then in JAN 2015 for few things. Now her app is in process from Jan 30. I feel your pain buddy. She called CIC twice and the agent said that her file is in process. :(

I submitted my application to CIC on November 12, 2013. This April 12th, it has been exactly 17 months since cic received my application. I tried to call cic but the line was busy. I also sent an email to my local MP and waiting for his response. Last time I called cic the agent told me the 17 months processing time start from the time their office in Ottawa receives the PR application. It means that the time my application was in Nova Scotia cic office does not count. It does not make any sense to me. All my friends who got their PR submitted their applications to Nova Scotia for the initial assessment and their files were submitted to cic office in Ottawa for the final assessment. For them the total processing time was 14-15 months. I hope this waiting ends soon. Is there anyone else in the same boat?

No. They extended the validity of my medical. Now it is valid until December 2015.

@SSM2011 and @PhSVE

Sorry to hear that.
If your file is in Sydney, I strongly recommend you to apply for GCMS Physical file CD.
In my case, on the very next day after applying for it, my file stuck in Sydney was moving to Ottawa and started processing.

Have you ever applied for that?

Yes I ordered GCMS notes a couple of times. I got one in February and one in March. In both of them Eligibility is passed, medical is extended and criminality is passed but security is blank. So there was no change in the last 2 notes I ordered. I do not know how long this security check is gonna take time.

It's not electronic file.
You should choose a physical file with CD.
CIC will send you scanned documents you submit in CD.
They have to scan your application package for sending you it.
So, your file is opened again.

I am in the same boat. It has been 17 months since I submitted my application in Sydney NS.
Just waiting for the PP Request now. Showing in Process from the last 5 month.

I am in the same situation. In process since November 2014. I am gonna call them to ask what is the reason behind this delay. The cic agent should have an answer for me. This PR is taking forever

I called cic today to ask what is the reason behind the delay for finalizing my application. The agent told me they have a huge backlog and they also have to deal with Express entry applications. She checked my file and said they do not need any more information from me at this time. She said my case is at the final stage (under revision). I was told to call again if I do not hear anything from them by May 31th.

Also be careful with your address. My mailing address is different from my residential address. I moved to a new address last October and let cic know immediately about this change. I changed my residential address online and also sent an email to CPC to inform them about the change of my address. However, I can not see the changes online. My residential address in the system is blanked out. I told agent about this situation and she said they do not have my new address in the system. She said that sometimes the online form does not work. She changed my address and told me it should appear online in a few days.

I hope we all get our ppr soon and this wait will end soon!

I personally believe the major cause of this delay is because CIC has given priority to Express Entry, which in turn created the huge backlog of PNP applications. They had to channel most of their resources to EE so as justify the implementation of the new program which is at the expense of other existing programs.
