My passport was received on 29th July as well. I am pretty sure you will get your passport back within the next few days.

Now, I am expecting to get the passport back on Tuesday next week (considering the weekend).

Did my landing today. I feel so fortunate to become an Immigrant of this beautiful country. My experience is as follows...

1.Left Canada in a Ferry to St. Pierre (France Colony). Beautiful (expensive)country but the people are very conservative and unwelcoming which made me realize how good Canadians are.
2.Came back to Canada. Felt so glad. Made my day even better with the friendly and helpful immigration officers.
3. They took me and my family into a private room.
4. Asked me if I was staying at the same address to which I said yes.
5.Asked me how much money I was carrying. And also clarified that he was asking it just for the process.
6.Asked me if had any undeclared dependents. (I replied :No)
7. Asked me to sign on the CPR.
8. Striked off the Immigrant visa on the passport.
9.Told me that he will courier the CPR(CIC copy) to CIC Head office which issues the PR cards.
9. Told me that I would get my PR card in the mail in 6 weeks. Also cautioned me that it might be delayed since they have some pending workload.
10. Told me that my PR Card Number is stamped in the passport in case I need any reference.
11. Finally greeted me by saying Welcome to Canada and asked me to drive safe on my way home which was 4.35 hours drive from the border.

Definitely, Canada is one of the best countries in the whole world:) If not the best:)

Hi Guys,

Quick question: when you are asked to submit your passport, are you expected to submit it during a specific period, e.g. 30 days?

I ask because I am visiting my family abroad over the Christmas holiday and if I'm asked to submit my passport around November for example, I can't be sure that I'll get my passport back in time.

Thanks.
