hey buddy congratulation , i hope everything works now, just one question , what was your application status before you got the PPR e mail , was it in APPLICATION RECEIVED status

App Recvd or In Progress status on ECAS does not represent the correct status of your application. This is dependent on VO. I have seen many posts where ppl got MR and their status was still APp recvd.

Sorry everyone. Feeling like an idiot now.

I actually woke up early morning, checked the email with itchy eyes and thought it was a Passport request.
And then wanted shared the info here as soon as i read it.

So what actually happened:
I got a request for "Copy of Passport" and not a Passport request.

I got the email at night at around 11. So, just wondering why would they ask for passport copy and not passport.
I am not from a visa exempt country.

Lets see.....what happens ....sorry for the false alarm :-[

Oh okay .. they might actually want your passport copy to schedule your landing appointment. I guess CIC has started something new where they directly schedule you landing appointment at the local CIC office and you actually don't need to cross borders.

Well this is just my guess as someone in this forum landed with a CIC scheduled landing appointment at the local CIC office this week.

are you from a visa exempt country - No
how about your COPR - The VO signed the COPR for us during the landing.

No. The passport copy was already sent along with other application docs.

I am sorry for so many questions .. but you seem to be the only one with this experience in this forum and i am waiting for my PPR so just curious. I hope you understand

I fully understand. I did refresh this forum and my email box every five minutes until the gift suddenly came. After ECAS: Medical received, we waited for almost one and half month to get the Decision made. And after another 12 days, we received the landing appointment email. The landing date was one week later. And yesterday, my husband checked the mail box and found that landing appointment notice in mail. So CIC sent it both through email and regular mail. My suggestion is also check your mail box regularly and shortly, not like us in one or two weeks.

Below is our timeline.

App Filed: 25-11-2013
AOR: 13-01-2014
Med's request: 05-06-2014
Med's Done: 13-06-2014
RPRF: 06-06-2014
ECAS Med received: 21-06-2014
ECAS Decision Made: 12-07-2014
Landing Request: 24-07-2014
Landing: 30-07-2014

Landing completed on 1st August at coutts, Alberta.
I reached there at 1pm . Walked to the U.S. border and told them I'm here for my landing , they told me to come inside the double doors . After 20 minutes they provided me the refusal letter and the immigration officer showed me how to get back to canada .

Walked back to the canada border told the same thing I am here for landing. The officer gave me some pink slip and told me to enter the doors and come at counter 1. The inside immigration officer put me into queue and told me to have a seat.

I'm not sure what the hell took them so long , as it seemed like only one officer was working on paperwork and rest were just smoking and roaming here n there. But finally after 3 hrs the office got to my application and completed the process . They requested me for all my older work permits , I gave them all and then congratulated me for residency.

Came home and celebrated with bbq and beer !!

Thanx to everyone for your help. Hopefully everyone gets their PR soon
