I'm in the same situation. Our application was received on Nov 28th by the CIC and we have not heard a word. I've called twice and finally got my client ID so I can see on the online status that they have received it. That time she told me not to pay attention to the number of days - only to the day they were at (Nov 20). But as of today's update they are now way overdue!
I tried to call today. After 15 mins on hold someone answered, asked me about my application, then said she would forward me to the right person. It rang and then an automated message came on saying that they were too busy to take my call, and it hung up. Really, they are setting up a situation to have very frustrated applicants! This is not acceptable. I have really exercised patience in the past 3 months... but now I'm starting to lose my cool
