do you think that the events happening in Syria would change the overall estimated processing time for their Visa office? i'm kinda of worried

If I were you I wouldn't worry about that , For all I know, people are getting visa faster due to events happening in Syria. Worst case scenario, they shut down the VO, and our applications will be transferred to another VO which is not necessary a bad thing
I remember during the turmoil in Egypt some applications were transferred to Ottawa and they got PPR after 6 months.
So as I said don't worry about it just yet, hopefully it won't affect our applications

BTW, it is worth noting that CIC-M is not working on the 26th and 27th of December and the 2nd of January. So probably 3 days will be added to processing time. Hopefully this time off fills them with energy and positive thoughts

I checked mine a week after I've received the confirmation from CIC and was able to log-in.
