November 1, 2012 Medical Changes: No more DMPs

Operational Bulletin 471 was published on October 31, 2012 and indicates quite a few changes to how medicals are being done and reported.

These in particular affect outland family applicants because Appendix C is no longer used:

Appendix C will no longer to be used.

Thus, CIC is now converting to a new electronic reporting system. This includes a new name for the doctors ("Panel Physicians" instead of "Designated Medical Practitioners"), new handbook (Panel Physicians Handbook, not yet released), and new forms, most of which are now available online.

The new form for up-front medical examinations is IMM 1017B.

My wife had her medical done about 6 weeks ago and we are just filing the papers now so are sending in the Form C.
I hope this won't be a problem.

The changes are effective for medical examinations done from November 1, 2012. As long as the doctor sent everything in before November 1, 2012, you will be fine.
