@ Asha Urvish
For Medical:

Applicant- NON EDE / Worker
Dependent- EDE/ Family

@ Praire2016
For PCC:

You dont need to get PCC from Canada for your PR application.
IF you are in Canada CIC might ask you RCMP clearance certificate, further in processing stage.

From your id it seems like you have been in Western region of Canada( North Alberta- Saskatchewan)

regards
D

Dear Drajpoot,

Thank you for your confirmation re Canada PCC. I was in Calgary, Alberta before, I have some relatives there

Hi D,

Actually when I did my Medical, I was having so many doubts about this EDE and Non-EDE stuff. I'm sorry for disagreeing with you on this. I have our tracking sheets right in front of my eyes. I'm the primary applicant - it's printed as Non-EDE worker. It is the same for all of us including my two kids - Non-EDE worker.

I asked the clinic for clarification. They said if the application package is economic worker class all the members of the application will get as Non EDE worker. But if it is a separate application under certain family classes the visa class will be mentioned as 'family EDE. But usually for all economic class (directly thru CIC or PNP) it is 'Non-EDE worker' for all members in the application.

First hand information from the panel clinic employee.

That's why I kept stressing on making sure that they give the right information in the tracking sheet documents.

Well, I think it is best to leave the decision to the panel clinic!

D ans Folks, my apologies, if I've been giving wrong information.

Regards,

Luder

Luder

I am sorry that I dint answer previously in detail cause I thought its not that much required to know about all these categories but its nice that you put your comments and You are also not wrong. I try to give you a little bit more detail so that you will get to know why we both are correct.

NON EDE- Non-Excessive Demand Exempt EDE- Excessive Demand Exempt
Under this category applicant are assessed for Under this category applicant are assessed for
Danger to public health Danger to public health
Danger to public safety Danger to public safety
Excessive demand on the Canadian health care system

As you can see above NON EDE applicant has to do all three assessment while EDE applicant is exempt for the third assessment"Excessive demand on the Canadian health care system"

So now the Question is How can I say that we both are correct cause in my case my dependents are EDE which means they are not assessed for "Excessive demand on the Canadian health care system"

Answer is when CIC do their assessment for Medical:

As per paragraphs R24, R117(g) and R139(4), excessive demand determinations under A38(1)(c) do not apply to:

spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner
a dependent child (including an adopted a child) of the sponsor, or of the sponsor’s spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner;
Convention Refugees;
protected persons.

Although such individuals must undertake a full immigration medical examination, they are not assessed for excessive demand.

So Conclusion is if Dependent is EDE, its also perfectly fine for CIC.

D

Congrats Kushal,

You'll get your visa in 9 to 14 days. I got it on the the ninth day after submission. Your visa will tell you how long it's valid. You'll have enough time to travel.

All the best!

Luder

Thanks Luder. Yes, but my medical will expire on 23 June 2017 as i did upfront medical on 23 June 2016. Hope they give me an extension or option to provide another medical to have enough time to prepare.

Thanks a lot for your support and hope to meet with you in NS.

Cheers and keep us posted when you are landing. Me planning for summer so as to be able to adapt.

Kushal.

Hey Kushal_75

My heartily congratulations to you. You have finally reached it... Have a big celebration. So i guess it finally took 8 months or more?

Thanks Ritawallu. Yah will celebrate it with all of you guys when we meet up. Yah it took around 8 months from date of uploading to CIC - Not the 6 months advertised. But, guess it's a case to case basis. For me PCC had taken some 1.5 months. After uploading they requested for a few other docs - simple things like nomination letter, WES report, etc. But remember to trigger them after the 6 months period by sending a query on their query form online!!!!

Now waiting for visa.

Hope you get yours within the 6 months.

Courage and cheers.

Thanks for the clarification D.

You've pulled details from the regulation book or website I guess. That's excellent!

Yeah, I get it. EDE or non-EDE are not so important when it comes to spouse and kids. CIC and panel doctors will decide that.

Have a nice day D!

Kushal.

Summer is the right time Kushal. I've planned to travel during summer too.

I see that your medical is closer to expiry. The month of June is already summer in Canada I think. But it's very near. With some extension you'll get enough time for the preparation.

Oh almost forget, my visa expires toward the end of August. I've planned to travel by the end of July.

Anyway, just let us know how long they give extension when you ask for it. It may be useful for people in similar situations.

All the best!

Cheers,

Luder
