The new instructions on Express Entry, which were published in the government of Canada’s official Gazette, come into force on November 19, 2016.
The significant changes to job offers are:
- A qualifying job offer is now worth 200 points if the offer is in an occupation contained in a Major Group 00 of the National Occupational Classification (senior managerial level position).
- A qualifying job offer is now worth 50 points if the offer is any other qualifying offer of arranged employment.
Previously, qualifying job offers supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment were worth 600 points under the CRS. As of November 19, there will be new ways of being awarded either 50 or 200 points without the need to obtain a LMIA (though points will continue to be awarded to individuals with a new or existing LMIA). The new regulations also allow the following individuals to be awarded points for a qualifying job offer:
- Individuals with a work permit issued under an international agreement, such as the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
- Individuals with a work permit issued under the ‘significant benefits to Canada’ criteria, such as Intra-Company Transfers.
Invitations to Apply
Candidates who receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence will have additional time to submit a complete application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Whereas previously an ITA was valid for 60, candidates will now have 90 days to submit an application after they receive an ITA.

Namely, my application reached NS office on 10 November.
My IELTS expires on 7 February and my EE profile would become ineligible then.
Next available date for IELTS exam in my country is 21 January, but I am on business trip then and the next date is on 11 February, and two weeks for result, that means that I would be able to create my profile after that, an be with out EE profile for 20 days. In the meantime what would happen with my NS application, could they reject it for expired IELTS?

Hello seniors and all,
I recently saw a shocking post on the PNP section of this forum, where CIC rejected PR of someone with "Sask. Nomination" citing that the current job duties do not match to that of NOC.
I'm wondering if this could happen to any of us? It is very worrying that when we spend an year or more waiting for the NS nomination, put all our hopes and IF then CIC rejects it at later stage.. then it will be brutal! I wonder didn't the Sask. immigration office double check all the details before verifying?
Any one has any idea as to how well the NS Immigration office verifies all the details before handing out nomination? What is the approval rate for NS PNP nomination holders of getting PR?
Any inputs from all of you regarding this matter is appreciated.
