Thanks,
Kaussa

Hi Kaussa,

My July application was received on 7-22-2015 and the second application was received on 10-15-2015. I qualify under two NOC's and was advised by NSOI agent to apply for both.

I don't know why u say one cannot submit two application under different NOC's. I was told by Nova Scotia Immigration that I can submit for two NOC's if I qualify and when application reaches processing they will ask me to withdraw one or move forward with the application that is likely nominated. I am not using an agent.

I believe that decision might be at the sole discretion of the officer who analyses your file. If you also present all the main duties of your intended NOC, as well as most of the secondary duties, a well written LOE, explaining how these "alternative duties" relate to your position, should clarify any doubts. But that's only my guess...

Still, I would wait for NSOI to question that. They won't reject your file right away if you have the necessary points, provided all the required documents (even if some are incorrect) and filed the forms correctly. The most they can do is reply with an "intent to refuse", giving you the opportunity to justify your mistakes and provide any additional documents they deem necessary.

Hi Skywalker,

Please can i get new reference letters from past employers to support my application? As i got mail from the officer requesting that i needed additional 10 points to qualify for nomination. The letters submitted earlier were old letters used for federal skilled program under a different NOC.

My question, if i forward new letters from my employers that suits my current chosen NOC will it matter?? Do the officers accept new letters at the point of nomination? Will i need to send LOE? Please advice me on what to do. Thanks in anticipation.

The letters should be valid, but only for the period up to the date your application was sent. But there's still one problem: if your current letters state duties from a specific NOC, how could you be working under another NOC during the same period? If you have a reasonable explanation, then the LOE might be useful. Otherwise, you could try to provide letters from a different period/job during the last 10 years, not covered by your current letters. It may seem a little difficult, but be mindful that only 2 years are enough to get 11 points.

Thanks Skywalker,

The letters provided from my previous employers were a bit ambiques, they stated the same job functions as my NOC, but i think the officer does not understand the wordings and he is assuming they are for a different NOC. I have asked these companies to issue a new letter with less ambiques statements. The officer has asked me to provide documentary evidences before 10.02.16 to support my application. Am not quite sure of the documents to present.

My nomination officer had asked me to send updated reference letters since they were one year old. I got fresh letters from the employer and that solved the issue. My NOC were same though.
