Nova Scotia: Demand Express Entry is slow. They do not even notify you of receiving an application. Their processing could take 9 months.

I applied to Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan.

Whereas Saskatchewan SINP is fast, they not only notify you, gave you a file No write away and even

Nominate you in a week. As I have got my nomination in less than a week. Express Entry marks was 343.

They improved significantly in the last 2 months, although it is still slow. But now that you mentioned it, some fresh news: Saskatchewan has just opened more 500 spots! There's no confusion. As of today, December 16th, they have just announced another application intake: http://www.economy.gov.sk.ca/immigration/sinp-application-intake-thresholds

That's not correct...they do notify you but it doesn't happen immediately after your application is submitted. I could imagine that this is probably due to the sheer amount of applications they receive. But most people on here receive AOR a month or so before they actually receive nomination.

I strongly disagree with you based on personal experience. I sent an application to them March 23, 2015 and did not get an AOR until November 16, 2015. This thread also maintains a spreadsheet, you can see it for yourself.

Thanks Skywalker_RT for the welcome. Yes, I have received my nomination letter just a couple of hours ago before this post. The number is between 400-410. I actually emailed NSOI asking for an amendment of the nomination letter. They misspelled my (really unique) name/s.
Hi Skywalker,
Is the number relates to the number nomination they issued right now. I got a response from NSOI today:
--------------------------
Thank you for your inquiry.

We are still accepting and processing applications under Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry and will continue to do so until we reach our cap of 650 for express entry nominations. It is taking 9 months or more for a file to enter processing at this time.

We cannot advise on whether or not you should apply, but can provide the following information: the standard processing model for our office is first in first out, and not all applications will be approved.

Also, at this time, we do not anticipate the NS Demand stream closing but a file may have to be deferred until the New Year when our allocation of nominations from Citizenship and Immigration Canada is renewed.

We hope this helps with your questions.

It seems the process is slower. However I am preparing to apply NSNP soon.

Thanks for your information. Seems that intake of 650 has been confirmed. By the way, I don't quite understand what's the meaning of last sentences, could anybody explain? (Also, at this time, we do not anticipate the NS Demand stream closing but a file may have to be deferred until the New Year when our allocation of nominations from Citizenship and Immigration Canada is renewed)

But we still can't be sure of whether the numbers are only related to NS Demand or to both streams combined. Notice how they say the cap is for Express Entry nominations, while they're still processing NS Demand applications.

It means they might give AOR to applications exceeding the quota, but they will only be able to give their nominations after getting the new allocation.

hi skywalker any new aor information have they gotten towards the end of may
I don't have new information, but right now I am without WhatsApp for the next 2 days and can't inform anything about the NS groups.

For those wondering why, all Brazilians are currently unable to use WhatsApp due to a judge's decision, which in turn was allowed by our so called "innovative" internet regulation, created by our "freedom-lover" government and lauded at the time by so many sycophants as an "example to other countries".

If anyone has news about AORs or nominations from WhatsApp groups, please keep us updated.

I'm sorry, I must have overlooked the posting.

Answering the question, if the application is alright, you will get the nomination, although unlikely in this year. You can expect it between January and March.

Guys,

I've been contacted by an officer to supply additional information 4 weeks ago.

So its been a month and I havnt heard anything yet.

I sent the officer an e-mail 2 days ago and still no answer back.

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation?

A bit worried. Thanks

Well, the stream is finally closed. Or, better saying, paused. From now on, Nova Scotia starts accepting online applications for most streams, but will still accept paper based applications until June 2016. The exception is exactly NS Demand, which will be temporarily halted. If somebody has everything ready, send the package today, as being post marked until December 17th will be their reference for acceptance of NS Demand applications.
