Hello Guys, Could anyone answer following query..

If I become Canada permanent resident after the approved nomination by Nova Scotia-NSNP program.
Then, would it be mandatory for me to live in Nova Scotia? If yes, then What's the max duration that I need to stay in NS?
Also, For instance, If I'm offered a job from any other province, then Would I able to leave NS and live/work in that province?

Please suggest.
Regards
Vineet

Good day House.

Please i need your input and advise. I was told to send additional information. But part of the requirement includes me giving answers to the following questions.

What research have you done about Nova Scotia?

· What factors have influenced your decision to immigrate to Nova Scotia and make this your permanent home, as you have never visited Nova Scotia or have relatives who reside in Nova Scotia?

· Have you made any inquiries about jobs in Nova Scotia? If yes, which companies have you contacted?

· Have you contacted any community groups in Nova Scotia? If yes, which ones.

· Do you know anyone who lives in Nova Scotia?

I have never been to nova scotia before. All i need is your advise on the proper way to answer these questions.

thanks folks
Hi dear, what I responded when I was asked similar questions were as follows, for factors dat influenced u to choose NS I wrote that I read a book about diff canadian provinces and Ns struck me the most bcos of its peculiar qualities like being knowned as a major city of Arts and culture, its people are known to be warm and loving in nature, its known as a coastal beauty site etc you can google and see more points to write on nova scotia, secondly about contacting any communities try to go to www.isis you can send dem an email that you intend to relocate to canada dey will respond and tell you how u can easily settle on arrival,i also responded dat I don't av any relatives in NS but av a few distant friends and we talk generally about life and work experiences in NS,i hope dis little contribution would help, all the best dear.

Hi Vineet,

There is no time duration declared for your stay but you must land into the province first. You didn't sign any agreement to stay for a certain period in NS, but you have signed and declared that you have intention to stay there. The word intention is a bit vague word in this case.If you can explain that your intention was to settle there but you couldn't(e.g you didn't find a better job or you have got a better offer from other province or some other reason for moving) then it should be ok.Some people says that after getting the PR,according to the law, you are free to move any province. And i think this is true. On the contrary, you are nominated by a province and thus got the opportunity to move Canada,so its a bit ethical issue to leave that province without trying properly to settle in that province.

I am in process of applying for Immigration to Canada under Saskatchewan Express Entry System as wide range of opportunities are available for Civil Engineers. As per information provided in Saskatchewan express entry Sub-category guide it is stated over their that one should have certificate of qualification before applying to this program. My NOC code is 2131 which falls under category of civil engineers.

However, I am a post graduate from United kingdom and has experience of nearly 2.5 years in the field of civil engineering. Currently, I am doing job in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates for more than one year and performing my duties as Civil Engineer. According to my initial perusal, it is a long process and takes much time also as per my understanding an applicant should be in Canada for this license as he has to appear in some sort of exams.

Could you please update me how can I obtain this license or whether I need one or not while sitting in Abu Dhabi for my immigration?

Your prompt reply will greatly be appreciated
I'm sorry I may not have the perfect answer to your query, but I would like to drop in a few tips.

Since Saskat specifically said that you have to have certification from your regulatory body before you apply, it is a key requirement. This means that if you apply without the certification, they may view your application as incomplete. Moreover, I guess there are other key requirements too like English Language test, ECA etc. And as it stands now, getting this certification according to you can be daunting. Hence, my candid advise is for you to start with the certification process immediately if you really want to immigrate to that province. Then later, when you must have got your licence, you can then proceed to the next level(IELTS, ECA etc). The reason is that the latter have expiry dates but the certification I guess is more enduring.

Then, you have to proceed to the licensing board of your profession to ascertain how internationally qualified or trained workers in your profession are assessed and the procedures for licensing. These information are abundant on the web at a click of the search button. So do your research well so that you don't get stuck half way since they specifically mentioned the certification as key. I know the reason. They assign a significant point to certification unlike NS.

All the best.

Beautiful. Then start the process immediatley. All depends on how fast your educational and work institutions can get docs across to them. If there's significant delays, do not be discouraged. Just pull through and get the licence afterall. Then, even if you may not meet up with the cap for them this year, then you must be amongst the earliest applicants next year. But I believe that you can work with your school and former employers to fast track the whole process.

Okay, I see. So what you will be needing is eligibility for licensure. That is to say the regulatory board of your profession will have to find you eligible to seat the exam in Canada. Hence, as a result, you will be issued a license if you pass. Of course, you will pass. Then, it means that you have to apply with the eligibility certificate or email they sent to you. You don't have to wait until you apply reason being that you must seat an exam for the purpose of licensure. So, I think you can approach it this way.

Initiate the licesing process and make sure that you get an eligibility to write the exam in Canada from them. (I.e. Stage 6 or so), then with that letter of eligibilty to write the exam, apply for nomination to Saskat,. Explain to them that you have been assessed by your regulating board and have been found eligible to write the exam. Hence, the eligibility letter. Then also, tell them that you can seat the exam if you get nominated as you will have the opportunity to write the exam in Canada and be able to assess useful resource.

So, you have to convience the nomination officer that you have got what it takes to land in Canada by virtue of your higly skilled sort after job, experience, education and the eligibility to seat your professional exam, which is written only in Canada.

In brief, initiate the licensing process, get to the stage of obtaining eligibility to seat the exam(this will fast track the whole process, and I guess you should be able to get your full points also because they respect eligibility for licensure like licensure itself). Then, with all the docs, apply for nomination and include the explanation I suggested above.

Regards.
