I am sorry to inform you that last date to apply express entry for NS was 30th January 2015 as mentioned on below link.

Please go ahead and apply, they are still accepting applications..

There is no link provided by NS, wherein they mentioned "we have stopped accepting applications"

Any other links provided in the forum are deadlines wherein they will accept applications in old forms.
and that to family sponsorship and skilled worker..

after jan 30th 2015, you have to send applications in new forms like NSNP 100 etc... for skilled worker and family sponsorship...

please go ahead and apply in new forms... NS are still accepting....as on date..

I want to let people applying for Nova scotia know that, the total number of nominations in express entry is 1050 and not 350 as mentioned in earlier reports in this forum

. In year 2013, the total number of nominations from Nova scotia province is 600.
In year 2014, the total number of nominations from Nova scotia province is 700.
In year 2015, the total number of nominations from Nova scotia province will be 1050 (an increase of 50% in year 2014....i.e 700 + 350 = 1050).

Its never 350 in 2015.. please correct. If people already know this ignore...

I have been observing in the forum for long time... people mentioning 350.... it is not 350 nominations but 350 additional seats....

Nova Scotia Announces Details Of Its Express Entry Stream For Canadian Immigration

The NSNP is an immigration selection program that allows the Government of Nova Scotia to nominate to the Canadian government individuals who can meet provincial labour market and economic needs and who intend to establish themselves in Nova Scotia. A nominee, along with his or her spouse or common-law partner and dependent children under the age of 19, approved under this program may become permanent residents of Canada following approval by the Canadian government. The Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry stream is aligned with Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s (CIC) Express Entry immigration selection system, which came into operation at 12 p.m. Eastern Time today. The stream provides up to 350 new provincial immigration nominations, bringing Nova Scotia’s total in 2015 to 1,050, up from 700 in 2014, which represents an increase of 50 per cent in Nova Scotia’s total quota of provincial nominations. Potential applicants must be highly skilled, have post-secondary education and qualifications that will help them successfully settle in Nova Scotia. They must also demonstrate their intention to reside in the province. Potential candidates are assessed according to a points grid that measures education, language ability, work experience, age, adaptability factors, and whether the candidate has an arranged job offer from a Nova Scotia-based employer. Potential candidates must also have at least one year of full-time (or equivalent part-time) work experience within the past five years in one of 29 skilled eligible occupations deemed in-demand. The provincial government has stated that this list is subject to change at any moment. At the time of writing, the eligible occupations list includes: Financial Auditors and Accountants Financial and Investment Analysts Human Resources Professionals Purchasing Agents and Officers Geoscientists and Oceanographers Civil Engineers Mechanical Engineers Electrical and Electronic Engineers Industrial and Manufacturing Engineers Computer Engineers Information Systems Analysts and Consultants Database Analysts and Data Administrators Software Engineers Computer Programmers and Interactive Media Developers Web Designers and Developers Civil Engineering Technologists and Technicians Mechanical Engineering Technologists and Technicians Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technologists and Technicians Drafting Technologists and Technicians Engineering Inspectors and Regulatory Officers User Support Technicians Registered Nurses Physiotherapists Occupational Therapists Medical Laboratory Technologists and Pathologists’ Assistants Licensed Practical Nurses Psychologists Family, Marriage and Other Related Counsellors Financial Sales Representatives There are two categories under the stream. Category 1 requires candidates to have an arranged job offer supported by a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment from a Nova Scotia employer. Category 2 requires candidates to have at least one year of continuous full-time (or 1,560 hours or more) or an equal amount in part-time paid work experience in the last five years in one of the occupations listed above. There are two application routes to Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry stream, either you apply directly to Nova Scotia Office of Immigration (NSOI) or you have been selected from the Express Entry pool by the NSOI. In either case, the principal applicant will need to submit a complete application to NSOI. Applications for the stream are treated as an expression of interest, and the provincial government has said that it may not process each and every application received.

NSOI will nominate 350 principal applicant through express entry demand stream without job offer,but rest of the 700(Up to) quota will be allocated for dependents such as children and spouse.

If 350 applicants have 2 children then???? 2 children are+ 1 applicant+1 spouse =4

350×4= 1400 ppl


1400-1050= 350

Where will this 350 kids go......???????????????


So the logic behind 350 applications and rest 700 family members is

NSNP is going to accept 1050 applications in 2015.....

NS released that 1050 are applications that will be nominated in year 2015 (whatever the stream be ... like family, with offer, without offer).
And the cap within these 1050 in each category is never released, i believe it is flexible... NS is interested in providing 1050 nominations.

And i believe it is so.. keeping a cap with a cap makes the whole process complex with such a low number of nominations (say 1050).

If in the case of H1B visa, it makes a difference wherein 65000 application are accepted every year and 20k ( i believe is for students)...
but not here...

And to forum group ........

If in a family there are 4 members.... husband , wife and 2 children.. and say the principal applicant is the wife who is prime applicant..
if she is nominated by NS, then the NS will fill one nomination for her (which by default includes her whole family)...

That means, in one nomination she can bring her complete family..... So 1050 applications - 1 = 1049 nominations will be still left....

no one in this forum can answer you that whether you will get through this or not even i am applying so late. i think you should give a try if you succeeded you will win or if you dont get selected than no problem at least you will have your documents ready for some other nomination or express entry. my point is, in the end you will need to do this. so why not now and try your luck.
