Sorry for the late reply its very hot in Halifax right now and the people are friendly job market is low now in my view I contacted isans people they gave me 45days schedule for the resumes and cover letters etc ...... It's too boring

How about the people of Halifax. Are they friendly?

In general, NS has a very slow job market as compared to other provinces. And since Halifax is the capital of NS, you see that applies to it too. Fortunately for you, you're in Sydney, Australia - which technically should present better opportunities than here in Halifax.

Having said that, what sector are you in? Different sectors have different situations here. The information technology sector is doing well in Halifax though and is somewhat thriving.

Friendliness is up to you to decide. On overall note, people are more friendly compared to larger cities like Toronto. However, the key to feeling welcome is to also adapt oneself to the culture in the country one settles in rather than expecting others to change for oneself. Case in point - in the neighbourhood I live in, everyone celebrated Halloween, even immigrant families from South Asia, Middle East as well.
