Hello Everyone.

I would appreciate for some comments/suggestions regarding my situation. I believe many will be in my situation at some point of time and knowing this will help me help others.

My application was received by CIC on October 21,2013 and I received an email confirmation on November 26, 2013.

I set my processing centre as New Delhi and mailed all my documents except for the FBI clearance with the initial package to NS. The FBI clearances were mailed recently and delivered to the New Delhi office last week. 2 days back, I got email from CPC-Ottawa (CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca) asking me for the same. I replied indicating that the documents were already received by the New Delhi office and attached the scan of the same.

Question: Should I send another FBI clearance to CPC-Ottawa? From the email, I have 90 days to do this.

Question: Since I setup my processing centre as New Delhi, is it common for CPC-Ottawa to request documentation instead of New Delhi?

Today, I received an email along with the Medical Examination Information/ Forms and have 60 days to complete this. We are expecting a baby in 1st week of September. I am concerned that if the processing timelines don't work well with child birth, then the application could get cancelled.
Question: Since I am not aware of the processing timelines, should I inform the CIC about expecting the baby? How do I proceed with this?

Appreciate your time and response. Thank you.

For CEC, you cannot "set up" your office as New Delhi. All CEC applications are processed in Ottawa, regardless of where you live in the world.

I would submit a scan of the PCC to Ottawa as soon as possible and explain that the paper copy was submitted to New Delhi. Not sure if New Delhi would know to send this onto Ottawa but hopefully they would use commonsense?

Thanks Matt. We are currently residing in the USA.
Once we submit the medicals, the passport request and visa issuance is about 2 weeks based on the current trends. May be we could immediately land and come back to the states. Once the baby is born, we can apply for the PR as a dependent from the USA itself.

At the landing you will need to provide a Canadian address to receive the PR card.

As for your unborn child, have you informed CIC that you are expecting a child soon? If you applied in November, your decision may not be made by September. If your file is still in process by the time the child is born, you would need to add him/her to the application and you would all receive your PR at once.

I notified the CIC yesterday about expecting the child and requested to defer the medicals until child birth. I don't want my wife to undergo x-ray during this time. If it gets deferred, then er can do medicals and also submit the application for the new born at the same time.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
