Started processing application Oct 27 2013
No decision has been made yet called CIC- agent yesterday for the updates and agent advised me that, you application is still under review. review for what.. it is been a 2 month they didn't made decision on my PR renewal. I don't know how long I have to wait for my PR

My time line for citizenship
Received application October 13, 2012
Process January 5, 2013
Received RQ July, 2013
Received prepare for your exam December 27, 2013

I received the same letter yesterday, which I believe it
Means " In order to transfer my RQ DOCUMENTS to Citizenship
Judge I have to make the Citizenship exam first"
And that doesn't mean any speed up in the process bcz when
File transferred to Citizenship judge it's actually another years of waiting.

My time line is:
Applied for citizenship on Aug 2012
Start processing in Jan 2013
RQ received May 2013 and sent jun 2013
Letter to prepare for exam received on Dec 2013

i have contacted the cic-call agents and the lady over the phone advised me, the last thing i can see on your application, that officer has remark that, you will get a notice soon to prepare for your citizenship test, however i have not received this kind of letter.

Thanks for posting this Msafiri. I suspect this is a big reason for the "Notice to Prepare..."

But I imagine that a FC judge might assess the quality of the "processing" represented by CIT 0521. CIT 0521 is super general form letter dispatched automatically and doesn't definitively indicate any honest or earnest action on a file, as far as I can tell. It seems to be going out to a high percentage of RQ recipients all at once (seriously, I'd like to hear for RQ recipients who haven't gotten it...I got my second copy this week and I'm hoping for a third copy by the end of January), a judge might find that the form is more about appearances than a meaningful report of status on one's application.

My wife got the same notice to prepare letter on December 16 ,2013 , she applied on May 2012 , and received RQ on June 2013 ( sent back same month ) and now this letter , of course we were very happy before we opened it LOL

you are certainly not alone - my status stays at December 14, 2012, when they start to process my file. Since then there has been RQ, RQ reply, then this notice.

My interpretation is that he received the CIT 0521 letter telling him to prepare for his exams - this is a generic letter sent out/effective Dec 2013 to RQ recipients of which CIC has dispatched a sizable number...the letter has no specific date as to when the test is to be scheduled as opposed to a 'real' test letter which give you a 2 weeks notice. In other words the CIT 0521 is for all intents and purposes a 'we are processing your file' but without fixed dates what does it achieve other than placate RQd applicants at some sort of psychological level that someone (maybe) is doing something on their file?

nguyentu. I have received this notice, not to write the test, but CIT0521 which means that in the coming months they will send me a notice to appear to write a test. and I don't know how many months I have to wait for this letter.
