Hi friends, I am currently living in Canada and in the Express Entry (EE) pool with 418 points under Canadian Experience Class (CEC). I studied here in university and got a 4-year degree. I was expecting an increase in my points, however, my points stayed the same. My friends got ~30 points additional. I wonder if I misunderstood what the recent change is all about or there's a technical difficulty. I also have a job offer that should give me additional 50 points which I did not get as well. I am quite frustrated as I've already spent 9 years in Canada and going into my 10th year.

Is anyone experiencing a similar situation? Please share your thoughts with me.

The points you can get for a job offer has changed.
you can earn a total of 50 points if you have a valid job offer in a NOC 0, A or B occupation
you can earn a total of 200 points if you have a valid job offer in a NOC 00 occupation.
A job offer now only need to be for a minimum of one year from the time you become a permanent resident.

You can now earn CRS points for study in Canada above high school.
you can earn 15 points for a one- or two-year diploma or certificate
you can earn 30 points for a degree, diploma or certificate of three years or longer, or for a Master’s, professional or doctoral degree of at least one academic year.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
You should get additional points for education. Login to MyCIC and answer few additional questions in order to get those.

Do you have a 'valid' job offer? An LMIA supported job offer, that is. Or certain specific LMIA exempt job offers.

If you are post graduate work permit holder any offer given to you can not help you get 50 points unless you have a positive LMIA

PGWP doesn't matter, as long as you have positive LMIA (i.e., valid job offer) you are good to claim 50 points and 200 points for any "00" NOC code. What's your current status, as you mentioned that your PGWP expired in Nov?

What were your answers for these questions:

1 -Was this degree, diploma or certificate:
from a public post-secondary school, such as a college, trade/technical school, university or CEGEP (in Quebec)
from a private post-secondary school that operates under the same rules as public schools
a diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) or an attestation de spécialisation professionnelle (ASP) earned through a qualifying study program of at least 900 hours from a private school in Quebec, or
a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree from a Canadian private school that can legally award degrees under provincial law. (The student must have been enrolled in a study program that led to a degree as set out by the province.)
Help

2 - Was more than half the study program English or French as a second language courses?

3 - Did XXX study in Canada based on an award that required them to go back to their home country to apply their knowledge and skills? This includes some awards from Global Affairs Canada.

Yes my PGWP expired, I am technically forced to take school again because I want to stay in Canada (Study permit) for now.

3. No

Did I do it right? I just re-read the question it seems like I should put Q2 as a "no". Pls advise.

Correct Q2 should be "no" as it is asking whether half of your courses were ESL or FSL courses (courses for you to learn or improve your English/French)

You'll get your points within 24 hrs.

Hey what is the difference between the previous 'valid' job offer and the new one? I was under the impression that LMIA is not required. I must have misunderstood.
