Hi everyone,
i am a international student in Canada. Recently, i had received a notice of seizure from CBSA about a camping Knife which i ordered from Wish. In the letter, it stated that i have 90 to apply for a appeal for their seizure decision.
I mean it it just a camping knife that worth a few bucks so i dont even bother to appeal it. i mean i have no idea that it was not permitted to enter Canada through mailing, as you could easily buy the same knife from Wal-mart or Canadian tire.
But my main concern is that if i would get blacklisted or give me a criminal record which could affect my status in Canada or my application for PR in the future. Just a few days ago, i applied for a new job and they did a background check on me and everything was fine, i got hired.
Please give me some advise, i am really worried.

Not an issue. Just CBSA being diligent/zealous..

No need to worry. This isn't a criminal issue.

really, thank you. coz i read a lot of documents regarding this online. i afraid my name and address was on the shipment and they my blacklisted for that
If it was that easy to get blacklisted, a malevolent actor could send all sorts of illegal stuff to unsuspecting recipients in order to mess them up...

The knife likely didn’t meet the specifications that are allowed for pocket knives in Canada. Your item was confiscated. If it was illegal and you were in trouble the police show up at your house:)
