Dear all,

My hubby applied for his Income tax returns (had to do this time consuming paper filing from Australia as we left Canada, and were told that online filing only possible from within Canada) in last week of April 2013, and though he has NOA for year 2011, we are yet to receive NOA for 2012.

Now, is it alright to submit T4 and a copy of T1 form (the form that he filled for Income tax returns) with the PR application, and submit the NOA later whenever he receives it? Are there instances of people submitting NOA Later and their application not getting rejected (or vise versa)?

Someone please please guide...

many thanks!!
Shalini.

T4 and a note saying you will provide NOA as soon as you receive it will be fine.

I didn't submit my NOA for last year at the time I applied
I got my NOA couple of weeks ago and added a cover letter and sent it with my UCI , file number and date of birth mentioned
So you should be ok if you send it
Just mention that you didn't get NOA at the time of application and now since you got it you are sending it

Thanks jsm0085...

*Now, I don't mean to annoy you with this question, but has this been your own experience, or do you know of instances that applications have successfully been accepted without NOA?

many thanks,
Shalini.

Sorry Capricorn2012, I didn't read your reply before replying to jsm0085..

So, your application was not returned/rejected.. Thanks for allaying my doubts!!

many thanks,
Shalini.

Pretty standard... NOA isn't always available. The first NOA can take over 4 months to receive so people who have only worked for 12 months in Canada cannot have the doc. before submitting app. Don't worry and proceed!

I included my 2012 T4 but not my 2012 NOA (added the 2011 NOA). I also did not include my PCC. I am planning on sending the missing documents once I receive my 2012 NOA, although the call center agent advised me not to send anything until they specifically ask for it. Not sure what to do now.

If you have received your AOR(acknowledgement of receipt) with file number(starts with E or B), I don't see the point in waiting for them to request the documents. You can mail them in a tracking envelope and follow-up with email to confirm it's been attached to your file.

If you don't have your AOR yet, probably better to wait until you have it to send the remaining documents. The reason is with the file number, it is easier for the visa officer to locate your file, rather than looking through a stack of applications going by say, your name and birth date, etc.

Thanks for your feedback SenoritaBella! Do you by any chance know which email address I should use? My office is CPC Sydney. I've only seen email address for the Ottawa office.

Hi shalini_G,

I did not have my 2012 NOA when I applied in March either. I sent copies of all my pay stubs instead. I can not remember if I sent the T4. :D It worked fine since I was found elegible and my application is in process. I would recommend to always send other supporting documentation and address it in a letter of explanation why you could not provide the specific information / documentation.

Cheers
