Hello everyone,
I submitted my study permit (SP) application on May 13, 2024, and I still haven’t received a response. I ordered my GCMS notes to better understand the status of my application, and in the “Eligibility” section, it says “Recommended for Interview”.
This is very concerning for me, especially since I’ve noticed that most applicants from my country are not being asked to attend interviews. This leaves me completely lost. I will soon reach 7 months of waiting, and I don’t know what to do or what to expect.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation have any advice to share? Should I be worried about the “Recommended for Interview” note, or is there a way this could be resolved without an interview?

Unfortunately, you can't really do anything. If it's saying “Recommended for Interview”, then you have to wait for IRCC to reach out to you with the next steps explained by them. At times, they do it for random quality assurance checks. If you're confident that you haven't provided any questionable documents in your application, you should be good!

In general, applicants don’t have interviews in my country. I just requested my GCMS notes since my application is approaching 7 months.
But in this case, is it a good sign?

Tbh, interviews in any country is not usual. I don't want to discourage you but interviews are mostly done in questionable scenarios pending refusal. However, some are done just randomly for quality assurance checks. Again, you know your documentation, so, you would know better if it's the prior or the latter!

Yes, I repeat, study permit applicants from my country do not go through interviews. I haven’t seen anyone who has done one. They receive a direct response. As for me, my application has taken a long time, so I requested my GCMS notes.
