Hi ,

i am applying for my PR in another ten days . i have gathered all the necessary documents and i recently came to know of the information that it is safe to have a notary public stamp and sign the copies of documents that we provide with the application ( passport copy , work permit copy , work documents etc ) . I am not sure of the rates of the notary public in mississauga. Could someone please tell me any notary public which wont work out expensive for me ? Also would they be able to give an explanation letter for any of the incomplete forms ( For example i have two extra names on my birth certificate which does not match with the name that i have on my passport )

Regards,
Savio

Before you pay someone to notarize your documents, have a look at other options. Here in Manitoba there are government sponsored(?) immigration services office that will offer this service free of charge. The whole application process is expensive enough without having to add any more fees.

In the bulk it would be $5 a copy. But why do you want to make notary It will not make any difference. You should follow the check list and notaries only those which they are asking for. Unless you have extra $$$...:)

@CanadaCEC123 : i have two extra names on my birth certificate which i have not used in any of my other documents . and my wife has a birth certificate without a name . it was from the hospital records and it just shows female child born on that date and there are spelling mistakes on her dad and mom s name as well . i thought i could go with a notary public to get this done and also came to know through a friend that i might have to get other copies of documents notarized as well . But the check list clearly mentions that i should get documents notarized only if it is in a language other than english and french and we do have documents where they have asked us to mention our names in our native language .

Please let us know if there are any services like manitoba in Ontario where i can get things notarized for free or for a nominal charge.

i am doing this to avoid the heavy fees that i have to pay to the consultant .

Well that is true. I was talking about passport, work permit etc copies. Those are not required to notarized.

Can't you use high school certificate as a birth certificate? If not, then better to get right birth certificate from your home country. That is what I did for my and my wife's birth certificate. I got it from my home country India and also got the notarised copy as per CIC requirement. That cost me way cheaper that here and I got the solid documents with no error.

I am from India as well and i tried it in my municipality for my birth certificate and they told they cannot correct the name on my birth certificate and for my wife, they need some solid proof of her name other than the passport and they are not accepting the wedding certificate which has her name in the correct format as the passport . and regarding the school certificate , i do have my date of birth mentioned in that certificate but does not carry my father's name .

I notarized my paper work @ advance blvd and dixie in brampton. Just off the 407. 199 advance blvd or something
I don't have the lawyer contact but I am sure you can google it.
He does it for $9/document.
