My common law partner (who is a co-signer) and I live in separate cities. My deadline to submit the Family Sponsorship forms is in two weeks and I will not be able to travel in time for us to jointly sign and notarize the declaration.

Has anyone else faced this issue? How do we administer the declaration remotely? The form only has space for one administrator (Notary Public or Commissioner of Oaths/Affidavits)

Thank you!

How are you common law if you live in separate cities?

We lived together for 4 years and she just moved away for work for a few months..

To the best of my knowledge, the signatures have to be originals and you must both be together to sign and notarize. I don't know if a way around this. It's a pretty unique situation since co-sponsors are pretty much always living together. You might need to consult a lawyer for options.

I'm in the same situation as you were, familysponsorship2019. How did you sort that out?
