Notarized Translation

Hi Guys,

1) It is my understanding that if I need to translate a document, an notarized affidavit of the translator is enough, and I won't need a notarized translation (meaning, a translation done by a notary, which is a whole lot more expensive), can any of you confirm this?
2) Would I need an notarized affidavit for each translated document, or is one affidavit concerning the entire translated documents enough?

Yes. Please see the below information mentioned on the CIC website:

"If the original certificate is not in English or French, then you will need to submit both the certificate and the original copy of the translation prepared by an accredited translator"

Only one certificate will be enough

Translation done by Notary is not required. You need to get the documents translated by a licensed translator.

Upon translation, you will received a certificate from the translation agency, which will state that they have translated the document.

You need to submit the original translation document. So, Affidavit is not required.

You need to use whatever is officialy licenced in your country as an English translator. If that is done in the Notary Office, the notary Office will it be. Usually such person has something as translator clause added at the end of the document, where he identifies himself as officialy registered or licenced
