Hi,

I would like to know which all documents (Education, Employment Letters, Passport Copies, Birth Certificates, Marriage Certificate) needs to be notarized or submitted Originals along with CEC application.

For education, I sent them my transcripts in a sealed envelope direct from my university. I also included a photocopy of my diploma. My letter of employment, copy of my passport were original documents and my birth certificate had been mailed to me by the state. I had a photocopy of a change of name for myself which was neither original nor notarized and I still got through ok :)

What do you mean by when you mention you sent the education transcripts in a sealed envelope direct from your university.? Where it notarized?

Also you mentioned you sent across your original letter of employment. Did the CIC returned the originals back after verification?

The checklist gives you all of that inforamtion: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5610E.PDF

Thanks. Does the copies requires to be notarized, since its not mentioned clearly in checklist.

As I understand, the documents are required to be notarized only in case they are in any language other than English or French. Not sure if you are submitting any translated document which is originally not in English or French.

All my documents are in English. Thanks for the post

nothing i sent them was sealed in any envelope. i remember that was a requirement in the old checklist as yoru transcripts had to be original. but since January, the checklist is more lenient and only requires photocopies of transcripts and doesn't require them to be in sealed envelopes.
