Not enough CRS points

Hi All,

I am 37 years old and trying to file an express entry profile. I now get 350 points in total. I am married and right now i am only planning to go there (if i get a PR) and later point of time, when i am settled then i plan to move my family there. I have scored in IELTS as (R:6, L:6, W:7, S:7), overall 7. I know that even i find myself qualified, i am not getting enough CRS points to get in to the draw which starts from 440-450. I almost lag 100 points which is a huge difference.

I do not have any siblings or relatives in Canada to sponsors. I also do not have a job offer right now. Increasing IELTS score doesn’t increase the CRS points significantly.

My IELTS will get invalid this June 2019 and my express entry profile will also become invalid this July 2019. Already i got an email from CIC saying that i do not have enough points to qualify for the draw.

Could anyone let me know how to Boost my points? Is there any other way to apply for a PR?

Regards,
Arjun

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi Arjun

Unfortunately, there aren't too many options for you to bump up your score. The only thing that I can think of is making some progress in learning French. However, this is a time consuming process that might not be enough to close the gap (~100 points).

Best of luck!

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. Is there any other answers, way that anyone can reply if there are any chances of applying? Could i study for a year in Canada and will i be able to apply further after that program? Any workaround like this?

Arjun

  • Improving your Ielts is much easier than learning French. The only thing I can suggest right now is to increase your Ielts, Your score in writing and speaking is good, actually great. If you can get 7 in reading and 8 in listening. Your score can increase significantly. Try calculating your score with Ielts score as ( L-8 R-7 SW-7 and S-7) http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

  • If your wife has experience and can score good in Ielts. Then she could be an added bonus . Also try different combination to see how you can increase you CRS.

  • If you still don't think you could achieve more then try getting some provincial nomination. Although the process is long but might be a good option for you. I don't have much knowledge about PNP. I hope someone else can provide a better insight.

Hi All,

Thank you for your time and reply on this. I tried increasing the IELTS score and calculated the CRS but still it doesn’t increase significantly. Ideal score to be in the draw would be somewhere 440-460, which means i am short of at least 100 points. So increasing an IELTS score will not give me 100 points. Also tried adding the spouse’s score to see the overall score, but no luck.

In fact i have applied PNP with PEI and also Nova Scotia as well. I haven’t heard from them on this. Also most PNP requires a job offer to have more brighter chances to get PNP as well.

As everyone knows its difficult to get a job offer residing outside Canada. Overall, i really don’t know what other way of improving. Thats why have also asked whether an education in Canada would be a good choice or not. Any reply is appreciated

Arjun
